A U-Pick DAHLIA farm in the Santa Cruz Mountains?! Yes, please! 🌸🌼 Last week I visited @beeline_blooms, a gorgeous dahlia farm tucked away in Ben Lomond in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I roamed rows of brilliant blooms, cut my own flowers, and created a colorful bouquet to take home! The farm is run by sisters Karla & Katrina who reimagined their land after it was devastated by the 2020 CZU Lightning Complex Fire. Their goal? To bring a little beauty and joy back to the community - and share it with visitors from across Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. 💐 Whether you go solo, make it a girls’ outing, or bring the family, it’s such a fun and creative experience! I wish I’d discovered it before my daughter headed back to college, but I’m already planning to bring her next season. And with so many colors to choose from, this would be a perfect spot for teens to create their own Homecoming bouquet! 🌸 SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NEXT FLOWER-FILLED OUTING! 📍 Beeline Blooms | 220 Stevens Lane, Ben Lomond 🌼 Season: Typically August through mid-October, depending on the blooms. This season is wrapping up - tomorrow 10/15 is the last day. It may be September, but it still feels like summer! 🌲 Here are 6 of my favorite hikes in the Santa Cruz Mountains where you can escape the heat and find cool, damp air beneath towering redwoods. 🌲 Sanborn Narrows | Sanborn County Park 🌲 Crystal Springs & Dean Trail | Huddart County Park 🌲 Land of Medicine Buddha | Forest of Nisene Marks 🌲Fir & Tafoni Loop | El Corte Madera 🌲Fall Creek to Lime Kiln | Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park 🌲 Tiptoe Falls | Portola Redwoods State Park Which redwood hike would you add to this list? 🌲 #sanborncountypark #henrycowellstatepark #californiastateparks #portolaredwoodsstatepark #castateparks 🌲 Sanborn Narrows | Sanborn County Park 1.4 miles | Easy | Dog-friendly A short, peaceful hike through towering second-growth redwoods, moss-covered trees and lush ferns. The trail follows a creek with bridges and a rocky stream crossing, making this a particularly beautiful hike after rain. Parking near the trailhead is limited and free. #sanborncountypark 🌲 Crystal Springs & Dean Trail | Huddart County Park 4.8 miles | Moderate | No dogs Wander beneath towering redwoods, oaks and manzanita on this shady loop in Woodside. The trail follows a creek, crosses several bridges and climbs through the forest with plenty of elevation change and switchbacks. $6 day-use fee. #huddartcountypark 🌲 Land of Medicine Buddha | Forest of Nisene Marks 6.3 miles | Moderate | Dog-friendly This peaceful loop winds through gorgeous redwoods in the Forest of Nisene Marks, including several miles on the private grounds of the Land of Medicine Buddha Retreat Center. Along the way, you’ll find prayer flags, meditation spots, a prayer wheel, banana slugs and a few unexpected surprises tucked into the forest. #forestofnisenemarks 🌲Fir & Tafoni Loop | El Corte Madera 3 miles | Easy | No dogs A mostly shaded redwood hike with relatively little elevation gain. The trail winds through mossy redwoods, past sandstone formations and, if you continue along Fir Trail, a Pacific Ocean viewpoint and the BCPA Flight 304 Memorial. 🇸🇮 Unfortunately, 2 weeks just wasn’t enough time in Slovenia. My list of things to do and see only grew longer while I was there. ⛰️⛱️ 🛶 🏰 For such a small country, Slovenia has a bit of everything: Julian Alps, rivers, lakes, the clearest vibrant blue water, caves, waterfalls, picturesque towns, a vibrant capital city, castles, beach towns, delicious food, rich culture & history, and so much adventure… I’m already planning my return trip! ☀️When the weather warms up, and your favorite pastime and coping mechanism turns on you… 🐍🥾 In all seriousness…Please Be Careful Of Snakes 🐍 On Hiking Trails ⚠️When hiking 🥾 Watch where you step. Stick to trails where the ground is clear without a lot of overgrowth. ❌ Don’t put your hands in areas where you can’t see: brush, ledges, cracks, and holes are common areas where snakes can be found resting 🥾Wear protective clothing, especially around your ankles: high boots & heavy pants. 🐍 Give snakes space. If you hear a rattlesnake, stay still until you’ve located it visually and then move away. Not all snakes are dangerous to humans, but you want to give them all space regardless. 🐍Snake 1 - Rattlesnake! We saw this while hiking to the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. We did not hear his rattle - we just saw him slithering across the trail as we rounded a corner. 🐍Snake 2 - Gopher Snake (not dangerous) - San Elijo Lagoon, San Diego 🐍Snake 3 - California King Snake (not dangerous) - Pulgas Ridge, San Carlos taken in California by @marquezfiveadventures

🌟Don’t miss this AMAZING Iceland Experience! 🤿 📌 Snorkel between the North American & Eurasian continents: Silfra Fissure in Thingvellir National Park Iceland. Float over lava & swim between volcanic canyons in crystal clear water. This experience had been on my radar for years and actually experiencing it exceeded my expectations! 🤿Snorkeling in 2 degree Celcius glacial water 💎 Crystal clear water! Visibility up to 150 meters! 🌈 The colors underwater were SO vibrant! 🇮🇸 Drift peacefully between 2 continents: Europe & America I would 100% do this again and will recommend it to everyone I know going to Iceland! There are several companies guiding tours here. We went with @arcticadventures and they were fantastic! They also supplied the underwater pictures as part of the tour package.
