Surround yourself with the people you love. We've heard this saying a gazillion times. It's true and I get it and I feel very fortunate to have surrounded myself with an incredible family and group of friends. But you know what, I think you should also surround yourself with people who are passionate about the same things you are.  They might be your family and your close friends, but they also might be people you have never met before.

In 2020 I jumped head first into this travel community and I have not looked back once.  These people understand me, they get why I am so obsessed with travel and don't mind if I talk endlessly about my trips (or if they do, they just let me talk anyway!)

At first it was meeting fellow travelers on Zoom calls, sharing our passions and tips for traveling.  Then it was meeting people IRL at travel conferences and events.  And lately it was signing up for a women's travel retreat with complete strangers and the only one person I knew I had met only a year ago via IG.

Funny how it all works. These new people are my tribe and I found them all online.  It's kind of weird to say that but it's true.  If you had asked me five years ago who some of my closest friends would be, I never would have imagined saying that they were "strangers I had met from the internet."

So this post is just a shout out to all the incredible people I have met through this travel world.  I can't tag or share pictures of you all but every single one of you - whether we bonded at a travel conference, DM'd about a trip, went on a trip together, or shared just a quick conversation about travel - thank you all so much for continuing to inspire me, to teach me and to allow me to be okay following my passions.  Love to you all! ❤️

Changing careers at the age of 40 was not something I saw coming. Especially if that meant to become a “content creator.” To be honest, I didn’t even really know what that meant before. I just pictured girls putting on makeup or showing off their outfits. I had no idea I could create a career out of helping people to do things that I also love to do.

To be fair, I can’t exactly call this a career yet. There is a necessity to make more $ than I spend before I feel comfortable doing that, but in the meantime I’m working on building the skills necessary to make my next career path exactly what I want it to be.

It’s still teaching. It’s just a whole new subject matter: adults instead of children, experiencing the world instead of reading about it!

Being in Banff with @macs_explore was an investment I made into this career path. We’ll call it part of my degree 😉. Maybe I can get some college credit for climbing that Via Ferrata!?! Christina offers an increíble course to get started as a travel content creator that I’ve been a part of for over a year now. This was like the best-ever field trip, learning from her and all the other entrepreneurs on this trip.

The scenery was like my personal heaven, and I was surrounded by incredible photographers. What is one to do with so many photos of themselves?🤣

Thank you Christina and all my fellow travelers for an incredible learning experience!
