This year we took our inspiration from Kes. Originally written by Barry Hines and created into a film by Ken Loach, it tells a story of resilience and the power of escapism amid the crushing impact of social and economic systems. “Hawks can’t be tamed. They’re manned. It’s wild and it’s fierce and it’s not bothered about anybody. Not bothered about me, right? That’s what makes it great.” by @marrapalooza

We created this grassroots pledge after taking on feedback about how Marrapalooza can be a positive influence in the North East music scene ensuring we protect and uplift the local community and the people that make it. by @marrapalooza
