Made a bikini for the second time and decided to use a pattern from Etsy. Kind of regret it—I actually liked the fit better on the one I made by tracing an old bikini. I ended up remaking the top three times 😅

1st try: I thought I’d messed it up halfway through, so I half-assed the rest. Turns out it wasn’t bad, but since I wasn’t being precise, one cup ended up bigger than the other.

2nd try: I tested a new hemming method, which looked nice! But I used a larger size to adjust for the new technique, and in the end, the small would’ve fit me better.

3rd time’s the charm: Went back to the original method and made sure to be precise. Came out clean and hugging the tatas 👙

Why do I used the word “so” SO MUCH? 😂 Sewing has given me more patience. It’s not always a simple process. Sometimes things don’t fit right, or you’re machine jams, the bobin runs out after sewing the longest seam, or you sew a seam the wrong side out. I get frustrated but the more I work at it and learn, the better I get at troubleshooting and the more therapeutic the experience is.

It’s ASMR vibes until I hit turbo speed on the machine and pierce your ears. Yes, I brain dumped my design idea on paper towel. 🧻 This was my first tote bag, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. The front pocket minimized the endless digging you have to do to find your keys.
