Finding my voice again as a speaker, 20 years after pivoting from stand up comic to producer has been such an amazing experience. Being on stage, holding a mic and connecting with an audience is my happy place. But this time around…no two drink minimum. Honored to be featured with such a stellar group! https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/top-10-leading-speakers-to-follow-in-2026/ar-AA25Z9Ry by @martaravin

This week on Welcome to the Music Lounge, hosts Andrew Schiffman and Perry Turcotte sit down with MTV veteran Marta Ravin to discuss her incredible journey into the entertainment industry.

Before she was helping shape some of MTV’s biggest moments, Marta was chasing laughs as a stand-up comic in New York City. 🎤 From comedy clubs to the halls of MTV, her career path is anything but ordinary. Link in bio. #mtv #trl #listen #podcast by @martaravin

In this episode, Marta shares a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from the height of the TRL era when the cast of S.W.A.T. What started as a simple guest booking quickly turned into organized chaos as the cast found themselves running down Broadway in the middle of Manhattan!

If you miss the energy, unpredictability, and magic of MTV’s golden years, this is a story you won’t want to miss.

🎧 Tune in now for the full story, plus more incredible memories from one of the people who helped make TRL must-watch television. Link in bio. #swat #llcoolj #colinfarrell #samuelljackson #trl by @martaravin

✨New Episode! ✨

@MartaRavin is an Emmy-nominated executive producer and one of those rare people who can walk you through a high-stakes production crisis in the funniest way possible.

She’s worked across some of pop culture’s most recognizable shows, from #TotalRequestLive to Love & Hip Hop, and built global hits like #LongIslandMedium (14 seasons!). But what’s remained constant is her creative instinct and her ability to evolve with new technology while continuing to produce premium, culture-shaping content.

On this episode of The Media Machine, Johanna Salazar and I sit down with Marta as she breaks down what it really takes to balance comedy and producing at the highest level: reading the room, trusting timing, and knowing how to make a project work skills rooted in human instinct that no technology can replace.

Marta also shares what she learned from #JonStewart about leadership, resilience, and not giving up - lessons that clearly stayed with her as she moved forward with her career.

What emerges is someone with a sharp authority in recognizing truth, authenticity and most importantly - trusting your instincts.

This episode is a masterclass of creating content, and producing at the highest level in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
