🩵 JESSE NORTH IS BROKEN my new play, premiering tonight @yorktheatreroyal written and told my Me 🩵 I’m so proud of what I’ve created along with my amazing director and talented friend @milliegaston 💐 Putting female northern voices at the forefront is what I’m passionate about and allowing women to be bold, brave, unapologetic, loud, sexy and vulnerable on stage - I will not shut up about it !!!!!!! Thank you to my amazing sister who has produced with @jgodberco and the incredible Siobhan our stage manager @ashton.creativ ❤️ Safe to say doing a one person show is not light work and I’m scared shitless but let’s gooo!!! ✨✨✨ #NewWriting #JesseNorthisBroken #YorkTheatreRoyal #FemaleWriting #OneWomenShow taken in York Theatre Royal by @marthapgodber

We’re commissioned baby !!!!!! 🖤 My debut play is being produced by @hulltruck and will play there in January!!! Two years ago I wrote a play about my experience of growing up in Hull which premiered @bushtheatre, now it’s being produced as a full production in my home town! I’m so excited to bring this story to Hull audiences. Putting women at the centre of the narrative is something I’ll champion again and again, and right now, this story feels more important and relevant than ever. I visited Spiders nightclub every weekend ages 16-18 so I’m bursting with nostalgia that my play about this time is now being seen!!!! ‘🕷️🕷️🕷️ Brand-new drama that celebrates the iconic gothic grunge nightclub, SPIDERS! Written and starring Martha Godber and Directed by Tom Saunders, this explosive drama will explore the lives of two Hull teens, Meg and Gabi, who have big plans for the future. Amongst the sticky floors, Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters and toasted crumpets, lies a coming-of-age story navigating the complex highs and lows of friendship – from loyalty and love, through to fear and heartbreak. 💄🪩🍹’ The amazing @chloemcdonald93 joins the cast, playing Gabi🖤🖤 Let’s run it back 🎆 by @marthapgodber
