Tonight I’m taking you back to the most beautiful nature reserve I visited this week- Pagham💚I already showed you a few snippets and its stunning beach, but what amazed me most was the endless path winding through the reserve. Slightly elevated above the salt marshes, it was lined with the most beautiful wildflowers, alive with colourful butterflies and the cheerful songs of little birds. It truly felt like a pathway leading to paradise.The vast salt marshes stretched as far as the eye could see, full of life and wrapped in an incredible sense of peace and quiet. It was one of those rare places where everything seems to slow down and you can simply breathe.There was a wildfire nearby while I was there, and for a moment I was worried it would spread quickly through the dry grasses. Thankfully, it was brought under control very quickly. It reminded me just how vulnerable nature is during these prolonged heatwaves. It is truly heartbreaking to think that places as precious as this could be lost in an instant.We all have a part to play in protecting these beautiful landscapes. This week, Lulu and I discovered another beautiful place: Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve 💚I had hoped to explore the stunning wetlands, but unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed there. So instead, we wandered into the forest😌… and what an unexpected gift that turned out to be.Beneath the most magnificent pine trees I’ve ever seen, time seemed to soften. Every path felt like a quiet invitation, every breath carried the scent of warm pine and woodland earth. I walked the same trail twice, yet it felt as though the forest had changed between each journey, revealing new corners of its beauty every time.I couldn’t fit everything into this short reel, but I’ll definitely take you back there soon. It is truly one of the most breathtaking forests I’ve visited. Large areas are protected and left entirely for nature, untouched by people, and I find that incredibly comforting. As much as I longed to step into those secluded, hidden parts, I’m genuinely grateful that places like this still exist- where nature is simply allowed to be wild.The heat meant there wasn’t much bird activity. Most of them were sensibly keeping cool in the shade or close to the water. Tonight, I wanted to share a little more of the breathtaking beach at Pagham Nature Reserve🩵-a place that feels as though it belongs to another world.There is something wonderfully calming about it. The quiet stretches of shoreline, the endless sky, and the gentle rhythm of the sea invite you to slow down and simply breathe. Every path is framed by wildflowers, while the salt marshes shimmer with life, creating a landscape that is both wild and impossibly beautiful.It is the kind of place that asks for nothing except your presence. A place where time softens, worries drift away with the tide, and nature quietly reminds us how much beauty exists in simplicity.To me, it feels like a little piece of heaven🩵😌If you ever have the chance, I hope you’ll visit and experience its magic for yourself. Yesterday I discovered the most incredible place. I could hardly believe my eyes😍I’m running a little behind with sharing it because, today, I completely lost myself in another adventure. Some time ago I came across Pagham Nature Reserve🩵, a peaceful 1,480-acre coastal wetland in West Sussex, but at the time I decided to visit nearby Medmerry instead- which is absolutely beautiful in its own right. Still, I never imagined that Pagham would leave me so completely speechless.There simply aren’t enough words to describe it, and there’s no way I could capture it all in a single reel. I’ll definitely be sharing much more of this magical place very soon.The walk to the sea is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever experienced. An endless path lined with wildflowers, majestic oak trees, birdsong, and open skies makes every step feel special. It’s a true paradise for bird lovers and anyone who finds peace in nature.The beach itself is quite a walk away, but reaching it feels like the most wonderful reward. Lulu and I ended up having it entirely to ourselves, and I can’t remember the last time I felt so relaxed. I couldn’t go anywhere today, yet my favourite place kept calling me back. It feels like a magnet hidden somewhere deep inside my heart- a quiet, unwavering force that never stops pulling me home.I have always loved the sea, but never the way I love this place. There is something here that completely consumes me. The moment my feet touch this beautiful shore, I lose myself entirely. The world falls silent, time dissolves, and all that remains is the rhythm of the waves and the endless horizon.This place doesn’t simply welcome me- it devours me whole, gently and completely, until I become part of it. No matter how far I wander, a piece of my soul is always left behind here, waiting patiently for me to return.Some places become memories. Others become home to parts of us we never knew existed. I posted an earlier reel to show the heartbreaking contrastWhitmoor Common💚is absolutely breathtaking. It’s an incredibly vast nature reserve, filled with towering ferns- the tallest I’ve seen in a long while- rolling grasses, magnificent trees and endless open heathland. There is something wonderfully wild and peaceful about this place. I only explored a small part of it, so I’ll definitely be back to discover more.But my walk also became a reminder of just how fragile nature really is.Last week, a wildfire tore through the heart of the reserve. From what I’ve read, no one yet knows how it started, but it left a huge area completely devastated. While researching it, I discovered that this was actually the fourth fire at Whitmoor Common this year.Standing among the charred trees, with the ground still covered in ash, was heartbreaking. I couldn’t stop thinking about the countless birds, insects and small animals that called this place home. Seeing such a beautiful landscape transformed so suddenly is something that’s difficult to put into words.Moments like this remind us how vulnerable these wild places are, especially during long periods of hot, dry weather. Even something as small as a discarded glass bottle or a shard of broken glass can start a devastating fire. Yesterday, I discovered another beautiful place-Whitmoor Common💚Getting there turned into a little adventure. My maps led me to a place where there was nowhere to stop, so I turned around, drove in a circle, and somehow ended up back on the same road- just a little further along🤭😅 Normally, I would have simply carried on, but yesterday I decided to explore instead😅Looking back, I’m so glad I did.I even lost my internet signal, yet somehow I still found exactly where I wanted to go.Whitmoor Common is absolutely stunning- vast, wonderfully wild, with towering ferns, sweeping grasses and beautiful trees. I didn’t get to explore all of it, so I’ll definitely be back.Sadly, I also came across the aftermath of the wildfire that swept through part of the reserve last week. Seeing the burnt trees and imagining the wildlife that was affected was heartbreaking. It was a powerful reminder of just how fragile nature is, especially during long periods of hot, dry weather. This week I stumbled upon another hidden gem- Papercourt Lake🩵nestled between Ripley and Send.The reserve is home to two lakes, but it was the smaller one that completely captured my heart. Its surface was almost entirely covered with hundreds of beautiful water lilies, creating one of the most breathtaking sights I’ve ever seen. It felt peaceful, untouched, and almost magical.The entire area has a wonderfully wild feel, with lush vegetation, quiet woodland paths, and an abundance of wildlife all around. Every turn revealed something new, making it the kind of place where time seems to slow down and you can simply lose yourself in nature.It’s the perfect destination for a peaceful walk, whether you’re looking to escape the noise of everyday life, enjoy the birdsong, or simply admire the beauty of the landscape. Yesterday, while searching for new places to explore, I came across some pictures of the ruins of Woking Palace💚- and, of course, I immediately knew I had to visit.The earliest record of a house on this moated site dates back to 1271. Over the centuries, it was held by several prominent families before eventually becoming part of the Crown’s possessions. The site later became connected with some of England’s most important historical figures, including Lady Margaret Beaufort, her son Henry VII, and her grandson Henry VIII.In 1503, Henry VII transformed Woking Manor House into a royal palace, and it was later remodelled and expanded by Henry VIII. The palace saw many changes over the years, including the addition of a wharf, new lodgings, and even bowling alleys. Lady Margaret Beaufort lived here in the late 15th century, and the Treaty of Woking was signed at the estate in 1490. Queen Elizabeth I also visited the palace and made further improvements, although its royal status eventually came to an end during the reign of James I.In 1620, James I granted the property to Sir Edward Zouch, who demolished much of the palace and reused its stonework for a new manor house nearby. Today, Woking Palace is recognised as a Scheduled Monument, and although only ruins remain, the visible moat and foundations continue to reveal fascinating stories through archaeological excavations and community digs.I had the most wonderful time exploring this beautiful place. Surrounded by peaceful meadows, with the river flowing alongside it, the ruins felt incredibly atmospheric and almost hidden from the modern world. It is such a picturesque and tranquil spot.I never expected these modest-looking ruins to hold such a rich and fascinating history. It was a wonderful discovery, and I’m so happy I found this little piece of the past. I visited completely different places today, but I need a little more time to process everything I saw. It was incredibly hot and quite tiring, but also unbelievably beautiful. I’ll share more with you soon.For now, I want to take you back to one of the most magical places I discovered yesterday- Blackbush & Twenty Acre Shaw💚Yesterday, I learned that Charles Darwin frequently explored these ancient woodlands, carrying out botanical and zoological studies here. Located just half a mile west of his home at Down House in the Cudham Valley, they played an important role in his investigations into evolution and natural selection.The whole place feels peaceful, wild, and almost enchanted. The trees are unlike anything I’ve seen before. Many have fallen to the ground with their roots completely torn from the earth, yet they are still alive, stretching their branches towards the sunlight. There’s something incredibly beautiful about this woodland- untamed, unpredictable, and left entirely to nature. Here, nature has simply been allowed to do what it does best.I’d love to return in autumn and see it wrapped in mist beneath gloomy skies. I can only imagine how magical it must feel then. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the drive. The country lanes are incredibly narrow and challenging, and at times it feels as though you’re relying on a little bit of luck to make it through😅🤭I had the most wonderful time there. Happy Bastille Day to everyone celebrating❤️and the happiest of birthdays to my favourite singer, Dan❤️🥰from my favourite band, Bastille❤️who was born on this special day and turns 40 today.What a milestone. A moment to reflect on everything that’s been and everything still to come. It’s also a celebration of so many years of incredible music that Bastille has given us. Dan isn’t just an outstanding singer- he’s a poet, a storyteller, and one of the most gifted songwriters I know. His talent has inspired millions, myself included.Happy birthday, Dan!🥰❤️To mark the occasion, I set off to explore somewhere completely new: Blackbush & Twenty Acre Shaw💚I didn’t know quite what to expect, apart from the fact that it was an ancient woodland, and the thought of finding such a place so close to London immediately intrigued me. I simply had to see it for myself.Honestly, I couldn’t believe my eyes.Today I’m only sharing a glimpse of its breathtaking wildflower meadows, but there is so much more to discover. Then I learned something that made the visit even more special. Charles Darwin frequently explored Blackbush & Twenty Acre Shaw, carrying out botanical and zoological studies here.
