āœØArtist Spotlight: Martin Dominguez BallāœØ Art may ask us to witness what should not be ignored.Ā  InĀ The Wolf Among Us, Martin Dominguez Ball presents a world fractured by fear, uncertainty, and displacement. Inspired by Picasso'sĀ Guernica, the composition is filled with figures reaching, crying out, and searching for safety as broken forms and scattered fragments press in from every direction. The oversized hands throughout the work reflects that desperation, reaching, grasping, shielding, and trying to hold onto one another amid the chaos. A small dove appears almost lost within the chaos, while a dark wolf pushes beyond the edge of the painting, reminding us that some threats refuse to stay contained. Working across painting, sculpture, film, and design, Dominguez Ball embraces uncertainty as an essential part of his creative process. InĀ The Wolf Among Us, that creative openness gives shape to a deeply human story, one that speaks to vulnerability, resilience, and the realities faced by those forced to leave home in search of safety. The Wolf Among UsĀ is currently on view and available for acquisition at Bank Art Gallery. Visit the gallery to experience this powerful work alongside more from Martin Dominguez Ball. šŸ“Ā Bank Art Gallery 94 Broadway, Newburgh, NY Gallery Hours: Friday: 5 PM-9 PM Saturday 1 PM -6 PM Sunday: 12 PM-5 PM #nbnyartseen #NewburghArts #HudsonValleyArt #BankArtGallery #ContemporaryArt taken in Bank Art Gallery by @martindball
