We are delighted to share that Martin Moore have won the Luxury Kitchen Company Award in the 2026 Luxuri Awards, a prestigious celebration of excellence across the industries that define modern luxury.

To accompany the award, Luxuri has written an article, "The Martin Moore Story: Where Kitchen Craft Finds a Wider Expression," tracing our journey from the first kitchen Martin and Barbara Moore created for their Victorian family home in 1975.

It explores the principles that continue to guide our work: beginning with the architecture of the house and the lives unfolding within it, then creating the finest bespoke furniture that feels entirely at ease in its setting and enhances everyday life.

From kitchens and pantries to boot rooms, wine rooms and home offices, the brief may have grown, but the measure remains the same. Every room should work beautifully, be made to last and feel particular to the home it belongs to.

A first look at a whole home project by Martin Moore.

We were delighted to be commissioned to create bespoke furniture throughout an entire home. For this elegant Cheshire property, our design extended far beyond the kitchen to bring a sense of harmony and continuity to each room.

At its heart is our English collection kitchen hand painted in Palest Taupe, paired with creamy natural quartzite and a slender dark walnut island designed for relaxed dining.

From here, the Martin Moore craftsmanship continues through the open-plan living space and onto the upper floors, with bespoke cabinetry for the primary bedroom, dressing room, en suite and children’s bedrooms.

Each room has its own character, yet the considered palette, refined detailing and beautifully crafted storage create a home that feels entirely connected.

Coming home after a long walk is much nicer when wet coats, boots and bags have somewhere to go before they reach the kitchen.

A carefully designed boot room makes space for all of it, with a comfortable place to sit, storage shaped around the household and materials chosen to stand up to the comings and goings of family life. It can have just as much character as any other room in the house.

Our new Insights article looks at the details that make a boot room work beautifully, from footwear storage and flooring to colour and cabinetry. Read it via the link in our bio. taken in Martin Moore & Co by @martinmooredesign

Beyond the kitchen.

In this Edwardian London townhouse, bespoke furniture was designed as part of a wider approach to the home, bringing the same craftsmanship and attention to detail found in the kitchen into the adjoining spaces.

This bookcase is a particularly lovely example. Designed for its setting - a family snug - it combines generous open shelving with cabinetry below, creating a place for books, art and objects collected over time.

Rather than feeling simply fitted into the room, it becomes part of its character and a natural continuation of the furniture elsewhere in the house.

No two laundry rooms need to look the same.

Tucked behind the kitchen or given a room of its own, a utility or laundry room offers an opportunity to create something entirely suited to the home and the way it is used.

Across these Martin Moore projects, cabinetry has been designed around each individual space, with different approaches to colour, storage and layout. Some continue the character of the kitchen beyond, while others take the opportunity to introduce a distinct palette and personality of their own.

What they share is the same attention to proportion, craftsmanship and detail. Because the rooms that work hardest in a home can still be a pleasure to spend time in.

A pantry can change the way a kitchen works.

By giving everyday ingredients, appliances and kitchen essentials a dedicated home, it allows the main kitchen to feel calmer and less cluttered, while keeping everything close at hand.

Whether designed as a walk-in room or incorporated within the cabinetry, we approach a pantry with the same attention to proportion, craftsmanship and detail as the kitchen itself. Open shelving, drawers and countertop space can all be considered around what needs to be stored and how the space will be used.

And there is room for personality too. A pantry can introduce a different colour, finish or decorative detail, giving this hardworking part of the kitchen a character of its own.

Wallcoverings have the power to change the character of a kitchen, bringing pattern, colour and texture into a space often defined by cabinetry and stone.

But where do they work best? How do you balance an expressive design with richly veined stone or hand painted cabinetry? And what needs to be considered in a room where heat, moisture and everyday practicality all come into play?

For our latest Insights article, we asked the experts at @fromentaldesign to share their advice on using wallcoverings in the kitchen, from finding the right scale and palette to considering pattern alongside the architecture from the very beginning.

The result is a useful guide to making wallcoverings feel like an integral part of the room rather than simply a decorative addition.

In this Cheshire home, the utility room forms part of a much wider Martin Moore commission, with bespoke furniture designed for spaces throughout the property. Here, as elsewhere in the house, the practical rooms were given just as much thought as the principal living spaces.

A well-designed utility should make the everyday running of a home easier. Storage can be planned around everything from laundry and cleaning equipment to outdoor clothing, while thoughtful layouts keep practical tasks and noisier appliances away from the main kitchen.

But practical needn’t mean purely functional. Cabinetry, colour and materials can connect the utility to the kitchen while still allowing it to have an identity of its own.

A floor has a quiet influence on the way a room feels, grounding the colour palette and bringing warmth, texture and character to the interior.

In our latest Insights article, we explore the enduring appeal of natural stone flooring, from the gentle tonal variation of limestone to the shells, veining and fossil markings that make every piece unique.

We also consider how scale, layout and finish can shape a room, why stone works so beautifully alongside bespoke cabinetry and what is needed to care for it over time.

Chosen thoughtfully, a natural stone floor does more than withstand the demands of a busy home. It develops a distinctive patina and becomes more characterful with age.

What makes a kitchen feel good to spend time in?

Last week at Daylesford Farm, our Senior Designer Andrew Wartnaby joined a conversation about the many ways we now use this room. All the panellists described the kitchen as the heart of their home, but the discussion went beyond cooking and entertaining.

A sense of calm can begin with something practical: a place for everything. A back kitchen can keep preparation out of sight, while an appliance garage helps clear the countertops in a smaller space. From there, natural materials, art and layered lighting that changes with the time of day make the kitchen feel as inviting and personal as any other room in the home. Even a view of the garden, reflected in a mirror where space is limited, can change how the room feels.

When asked, the panel agreed that when investing in a new kitchen, quality bespoke cabinetry and beautiful stone countertops should be the priority. The great bones of a kitchen that works beautifully will endure for decades. The colours, hardware and appliances can be updated over the years.

Thank you to @DaylesfordFarm for welcoming us to the home and garden auditorium, and to Clara Baldock of @fthtsi for guiding such an enjoyable discussion with @AndrewPaykel, former COO of @FisherPaykel, Romanos Brihi of @StudioVeroUK and @LauraButlerMadden of @Grove_England. taken in Daylesford Farm by @martinmooredesign
