🏆Still reflecting on a very special evening, last night at the Global Health Awards 2026✨

I was deeply honoured to receive the “Excellence in Pharmacy Award” from @zenithglobalhealth in recognition of outstanding contributions to a career shaped by what pharmacy can achieve when innovation meets compassion, collaboration and equity.

I am grateful, but more than anything, humbled.🙏🏽

To share the evening with such an accomplished and internationally diverse group of people, many of whom work beyond the boundaries of their own healthcare systems and in voluntary capacities to advance Global Health Equity, was a privilege.💖

For me, pharmacy has never simply been about medicines. It is about people, possibility and purpose.

In my acceptance speech, I spoke about two things that sit at the heart of how I see leadership: listening to understand, rather than listening to respond, and taking people with you; supporting others to realise their potential and being willing to see them achieve things that may even exceed what you have achieved yourself.

That, for me, is Leadership With Purpose.

My South African🇿🇦 roots and Ubuntu: “I am because we are” have always shaped this belief deeply. Our greatest impact is not what we achieve alone, but how we bring others with us, lift others up and create space for others to thrive.

This award feels less like an individual achievement and more like recognition of the many people, teams and communities who have shared the journey with me.

A heartfelt thank you to @maryakangbe President of @zenithglobalhealth and the entire Zenith team for such a wonderful celebration.

To @joanmyers6077 who in my opinion is one of UK healthcare’s true national treasures, thank you for keeping us energised and entertained and for ending the evening with such a beautiful and thoughtful poem.

I receive this recognition with a very full heart and renewed purpose.🙏🏽

Pharmacy is my profession. My values and purpose are who I am.🌍🇬🇧
