WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

A business owner signs a 6-month agreement for professional services, with payments due monthly.

The agreement clearly states that the client is responsible for all payments during the six-month term, regardless of business performance or revenue generated.

Three months into the agreement, when the 4th payment becomes due, the business owner says revenue has decreased and asks to be released from the remainder of the agreement.

If you were the service provider, what would you do?
A. Hold them to the agreement they signed.
B. Release them from the remaining obligation.
C. Offer some type of compromise.
D. Something else.

It is never too late to say thank you.

The other day I saw a LinkedIn post announcing a new career journey of someone who I had a conversation with more than 20 yrs ago. In those years we have have crossed paths once or twice.

Well, today I felt led to reach out to her. She is Katie Carter, the former Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Foundation's "Komen Columbus" Chapter. I did so to thank her for a conversation we had all those years ago.

She may not have realized it then, but that conversation fueled the vision that led me to found what is now Cancer Option Collaborative (then Christians Overcoming Cancer). The words she spoke ignited a fire that has never diminished.

We often don't realize the impact our words, encouragement, or willingness to simply have a conversation can have on the trajectory of someone life.

I encourage you to think back. Is there someone who made a difference in your life journey that you may not have said thank you to... if you can, find them... don't wait... reach out... let them know... say THANK YOU.

It is never too late...

It's been a while since I shared anything about my dental journey but here is the latest...

As I've shared the current temporary dentures make me gag... and I mean within seconds of putting the top denture in I am gagging. Dr. Aaron, of Whitehall Family Dental, has been working on a why for me to wear them with feeling like I am at death's door...

Today I had a visit. It was a condition update before the pre-surgery consult Thursday with Fulks Family Dental...

Well, aside from the super tender spots in tje front center (top & bottom) there is no signs of infection! YAY! My jaw bones have sharp edges that cause pain and difficulty when wearing dentures...

The solution - sigh - Aveoloplasty surgery...

What is that... according to office staff think of it like "filing a nail down" - yep... my top and bottom gums will be cut open and the surgeon will "file" down the areas that are sharp... aka dang near all the top and bottom...

REMEMBER insurance denied coverage for the 2 sedation meds that would put me to sleep during the procedure. Shout out to some people I am blessed to know who got that processed... not 100% but better than not at all! Shout out, big hugs, much appreciation those who joined forces with Toni Harris and Leslie Dahn in support of their gofundme to help me smile again (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-mary-jenkins-smile-again). Y'all didn't have to but you showed your love and did.

When I left today's appointment I was wearing the top denture without gagging! Yes Y'all - no choking aqui! Nothing could be done about the bottoms because of the tender spot... but hey... I will take it...

What do y'all think? Journey is far from over but we are moving again!

This weekend so many of my brother-friends and sista-friends are headed to Orlando for this year's "Premiere Orlando" show.

Those who know me and supported @hairstylesandbeautyforhope the last 16 years know the health challenges I've faced, 2nd Breast Cancer diagnosis, heart failure, TIA Stroke, and most recently the need for an oral biopsy and Aveoloplasty surgery.

The time had come where my body basically gave me no choice but to take care of me. How can I grind across the country bringing together resources and spreading cancer patient awareness at the level I had been when physically I was suffering. Shout out to Toni, Joseph and several others who stepped in to help when they saw I was about to crash out.

When you're passionate about giving back, supporting others and making an impact at times you tend to go blind to self-care... that was your girl...

So until further notice your girl is taking a break from attending the beloved, multiple day, barber & beauty industry shows...

Lord knows I'm gonna miss y'all...
