We made our fifth trip to DC this week and came home exhausted but with a renewed sense of accomplishment. We made so many new connections joined by the Kaiser family out of Minneapolis - whose daughter survived the Annunciation Catholic School shooting. Ten thousand steps and multiple meetings later, we successfully planted seeds for new federal legislation that is solely focused on prevention of school shootings - something that doesn’t exist today.

There’s a long road ahead but the hard work is taking shape into something incredible. Thank you for all your support, encouragement and prayers. We look forward to sharing more when the time comes.

Cheers to change together💪🏻 We are on quite the journey…almost a year ago I couldn’t have fathomed being a parent of a mass shooting survivor. I also would never have thought of being in a position of speaking up for gun safety as I’ve always remained quiet about any political issue. However, I feel our children should be safe at school, and they should not fear being shot or killed while trying to learn. This is not a political issue. This is a human issue. Yesterday marked another milestone in our advocacy journey as the bill we passionately testified on during the TN Special Session successfully passed in the TN House of Representatives! This is a tremendous step forward, and our efforts now move to the Senate. Fingers crossed for another positive outcome!

As we celebrate this victory, let’s take a moment to remember the suffragists who stood in this very spot at the Hermitage Hotel. These courageous women fought tirelessly for the right to vote, facing challenges and opposition similar to what we encounter today in advocating for gun safety in our beloved state of Tennessee. Their legacy fuels our determination to keep pushing for progress!

“We, the women of Tennessee, are fully [activated]. We the women of America are determined to rise to the full height of our responsibilities as citizens and take our rightful place in the councils of the nation.” 🇺🇸

Louder than Guns is getting a theatrical release and taking its message of hope and conversation to cities across the US. This film started with @ketchsecor feeling compelled to speak out in an oped in the NY Times after the Covenant School shooting that our children survived. We are beyond proud to be part of this film and hope you will take the time to watch it. Our wish is it encourages all of us to think about the firearm issue differently and realize both sides can come together for change for our children and for America.

Special thanks to @ketchsecor and @fearless_greene for your passion behind this documentary along with the film’s Director, Doug Pray, Producer @ashleyyorkhere and so many others who made this happen.

Fall Break, but make it New York.
The kids’ first trip to NYC and they came in hot—like, “Where’s our driver?” energy. We did it all: a private tour of Ground Zero that was both humbling and unforgettable, skyline views from the Empire State Building, and a little window shopping through SoHo and Tribeca because—let’s be honest—just walking those streets feels chic. We ate our way through local hotspots, saw Beetlejuice on Broadway, and even scored a private backstage tour from our new friend @jonathanabryant . To round it all out, we ended the trip with sprinkles and smiles at the Museum of Ice Cream.

New York, you’re a total vibe—and I think we’re officially city people now.
