Thank you @contemprints for the opportunity to see @onerafoundation historical home + exhibit yesterday. Loved that the editor Maxwell Perkins lived here 1924-1947. My mother collected Fitzgerald + Hemmingway first editions so I heard his name often growing up. What a treat right here in our backyard. Don’t miss it if you’re close by. Works from the FAPE collection and US embassies worldwide.

Books with Silver

My father wrote books. My mother collected first editions. My sketchbooks are filled. To this day, my home is filled with books. They have a quiet presence in my home demanding little attention. I don’t always read them, but I know they’re there. Dog eared, pages missing, stained and underlined, passed between friends, lovers or generations.

Collected alongside my other favorite treasures.

It takes over three years before an oyster is ready for the table.

Each year, we spend two weeks replanting shell that we catch + dry on land from December through July. This recycled shell creates the perfect hard, clean surface for oyster larvae to attach to when they begin their life.

As the water warms each summer oyster spawn, releasing millions of microscopic larvae into the water. Those larvae eventually settle onto the shell where they attach and begin growing into the next generation of @coppsislandoysters.

It’s a cycle that repeats every year—and one that helps ensure healthy, sustainable oyster reefs for years to come.
