New character, new story. I decided to represent Anna, under suggestion, from the Andrzej Żuławski’s movie Possession (1981), a visceral psychological horror film that uses body horror to allegorize the painful breakdown of a marriage. Set in divided West Berlin, the narrative follows Mark and Anna as her demand for a divorce spirals into violent madness, self-harm, and the literal creation of a monstrous tentacled creature.

“I can’t exist by myself because I’m afraid of myself. Because I’m the maker of my own evil. Because... Because I’m... Goodness is only some kind of reflection upon evil. That’s the way it is.”

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a track from the film, so I’ve included one by the soundtrack’s composer, Andrzej Korzyński.

As always, I am opened to other characters’ hints.

Third issue of this new «Do it in your style» series, featuring a wonderful suggestion: a film with an iconic Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. The plot is well known, and it is defined by its operatic, campy Gothic aesthetic and its core theme of an eternal, intoxicating love that defies God and death. I decided to depict the moment when Mina meets the Count, as he whispers that very famous line:

«I have crossed oceans of time to find you.»

Suggestions as usual are welcome!

Here I am again with the second subject I’ve depicted: Nina Sayers from “Black Swan”—a young, disciplined ballerina with the New York City Ballet. As she attempts to embody the dark sensuality of the Black Swan, Nina gradually loses touch with reality, overwhelmed by anxiety, to the point where she finds herself battling against her own self—ultimately destroying who she was in order to transform into something else.

“Perfection is not just about control. It’s also about letting go. Surprise yourself so you can surprise the audience. Transcendence!”

Suggestions of new characters to represent are always welcome.

Back at it, testing my skills with a new panel featuring cinematic villains.
Let’s kick things off with Patrick Bateman, the protagonist of *American Psycho*—a film I’ve loved for years and never tire of rewatching.

“I had all the characteristics of a human being—flesh, blood, skin, hair—but my depersonalization was so intense, had gone so deep, that my normal ability to feel compassion had been eradicated, the victim of a slow, purposeful erasure. I was simply imitating reality, a rough resemblance of a human being, with only a dim corner of my mind functioning”

Suggestions on who else to depict are always welcome!

THE MOTH// METAMORPHOSIS

“One day, I am gonna grow wings,
A chemical reaction
Hysterical and useless, hysterical and
Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground”

THE WITCH// THE MAGICAL FOREST

“The earth has music for those who listen, and magic for those who choose to see it.”

When magic overlaps with reality, quoting one of my favorite masters, Magritte, in "The Blank Signature"

THE LANDSCAPE IS CRYING // Cause I don’t care if you’re going nowhere
Just take good care of the world

nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed

Not selected work for the contest of Orvieto Cinema Fest, theme LA CURA (the cure)

@maryteardrop created for Evil Dead Italia this stunning fan-made poster for Evil Dead Wrath 🩸

A tribute to the golden age of Italian horror posters, inspired by the unmistakable ’70s style — complete with vintage paper creases, worn textures and that wonderfully lurid atmosphere.

The artwork pays homage to Luciano Crovato’s poster for "La Pelle sotto gli artigli", reimagined for @francisgalluppi upcoming chapter of the Evil Dead saga.

Now there’s just one little problem…
We have to wait until 2028 to see the movie. 😈

I present the last projects I did on last year for the school publishing house Mondadori Education.
I illustrated two chapters about History and Educational stories, for the schoolbook “Essere un Fiore...” for 13th-grade secondary schools about novels. Some of the stories were truly inspiring and contributed to my childhood too.
This is what I chose to illustrate about the novel Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, a thoughtful representation of London.
I hope you like it.

Here it is another projects I worked on last year for the school publishing house Mondadori Education.
I illustrated the chapter on Horror stories, for the schoolbook “Essere un Fiore...” for 12th-grade secondary schools about novels. Illustrating horror stories immediately got me excited; I love the classics of Gothic and literary fiction, both old and new.
This is the illustration I made about “Morning Deliveries (Milkman 1)” by the master of horror Stephen King. I hope you can enjoy it.
