POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I think you can tell a lot about someone by the way people talk about them when they’re not the one holding the microphone.

And Hayley is so fucking loved.

Hayley owns her own opticians @cbtropticians and somewhere between booking me and getting married we started sending each other memes and encouragement about the very glamorous reality of being women running businesses 😂

So arriving at Chateau Denmark on the morning felt very, oh hiiiiii 💕

The morning was childhood friends, pizza that I obviously got involved with (please stop reminding me I’m lactose intolerant), Jimmy Choos and a very Audrey Hepburn dress.

After Marylebone, Hayley was READY for portraits and Jack did bloody well too. We also made one on the bar at Kettner’s as a little nod to Richard Avedon iykyk 📸

Then came the speeches and I basically spent the rest of the day watching Hayley cry.

Her mum wrote her a poem called My Little Bird about her being born premature. Her best friend talked about them making Scoobies as little girls and had made two for the wedding, one for Hayley and one for Jack 🥹

And then her dad got up.

At one point he looked at her and said:

“You’re my best friend.”

Fucking hell.

There are certain sentences I hear at weddings that I shamelessly steal and keep for myself and that is one of them.

He’d also been keeping a promise for about 30 years.

When Hayley was five he told her that when she got married he’d buy her anything she wanted.

Her answer?

A hamster.

And the man remembered 😭😂

So all these years later he finally gave her one (last pic)

Jack is also the accountant for Hayley’s business which provided plenty of material 😂 but underneath the jokes you could see why they work. He grounds her. There’s a calmness to him that she clearly loves.

That’s what stayed with me from this wedding. So many people who had loved Hayley through different parts of her life all in one room.

Very emotional. Very loved. Very good wedding 🥹❤️

What I love about photographing bridal prep 💄

I’m not just there to photograph the bride, I’m there to document the atmosphere and the people around her. It’s the best time to get to know the bride and bridal party if I haven’t already met the bride before the day.

The emotions of a bridal morning make for the most beautiful photographs. There can be some nerves and excitement but also reactions to the dress reveal and key moments like mum helping bride get on her dress.

I love meeting the hair and makeup artists and photographing them working their magic! @mascaralogan and @weddinghairbygracelynch were fantastic on the morning of Jade & Luke’s wedding definitely contributed to the vibe of the morning.

If anyone is camera shy it gets them used to having me around and by the time it gets to the ceremony they barely notice I am there

And let’s be honest, it’s therapeutic to watch hair and makeup being done! 😂
