@maskaudioelectronics just dropped a MKII of one of my absolute favorite phasers, Neckbrace! It’s now got digital control over the LFO as well as a very fun ramping feature, all with the same great sounds. It’s got a simple layout and it’s super easy to dial in, but lets you get plenty weird if you want to. Highly recommend! Full demo is up on my channel now! by @maskaudioelectronics

Today we’re checking out the brand new Neck Brace MKII from Mask Audio Electronics. This three stage OTA based phaser has been overhauled and has some really cool new features that can be used to dial in a pretty wide range of phaser tones. The LFO has been completely overhauled and extended, at its slowest it takes an almost painful 17 seconds to complete a full sweep, and at the upper range the speed has been pushed so far you can get into ring mod territory. This extended range is split up into 3 sections which can be accessed by the toggle switch. These are slow, fast, and ring mod. You also now have the ability to ramp between speeds by holding down the footswitch. If the rate knob is below half, it will ramp up to maximum, and if it’s above, then the rate will ramp down to minimum. The speed of the ramping can also be adjusted internally. The main control layout is nice and simple, you’ve got the rate knob to set the speed, and the three way toggle to select the speed range. And then you’ve got the mix knob, this lets you dial in the blend of the phaser with your dry signal and when it’s maxed out you can get some really nice phase/vibrato sounds. The original Neck Brace was already one of my favorite phasers, and @maskaudioelectronics absolutely killed it with this MkII update. This adds a digital lfo that allows for precise rate control and ramping for dynamic sweeps and leslie-ish tones. Plus all the goodness of the original - a range from a glacial 17 seconds cycle to audio rate pseudo ring mod, simple controls that still don’t limit the pedal’s range, and a lush phaser texture. The @maskaudioelectronics (MAE) Neck Brace is a three-stage OTA based phaser that can go from a verrrrry slow (I'm talkin 18 seconds) to warp-speed ring mod fast. This puts an incredibly wide range of phasing at your finger tips (or toe tips if you will). New in Mark II is the ability to ramp between two phaser speeds just by holding down the footswitch, letting you add movement to your movement - though you also have the option of changing the footswitch to momentary for whenever your riffs need some impromptu laser sounds. In this demo, I'm showcasing the Neck Brace at 3 different settings, starting with a ring-mod that I manually tuned to my low C string (this is in Drop C tuning) for the intro riff. Then as we transition to the vibey section, I'm using a slower phaser for the rhythm guitars and a medium speed phaser for the lead. I'm using the @walrusaudioeffects 385 Overdrive for all of the distortion sounds here. I find these two make an awesome pairing.
