For years, one of the biggest drivers of my massage business wasn’t social media or paid advertising.

It was getting in front of the right people, letting them experience the work, and having a system to turn that first interaction into a client.

I did this over and over again at gyms, fitness studios and local events. It became one of the most reliable ways I found to build a steady massage practice.

I put the exact process I used into my newest CE course so other massage therapists can take it, adapt it to their market, and actually put it into action.

If you’re great at massage but need more people on your table, this is for you.

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student take action ☺️

One of my students took my Promotional Events CE course and booked his first promotional event within 48 hours. 👏

This course is built around the exact promotional event system I used for 14 years to consistently attract new massage clients through gyms, yoga studios, and community events.

If you’re ready to stop waiting for clients to find you and start putting yourself in front of them, this course will show you how.

🎉 Introductory price: **$77** (regularly $149)

Starting a massage business? Before settling on a name, do your research!

Google it. Check for existing businesses with the same or similar names.

Make sure the website domain and social media handles are available across all the platforms you plan to use. * Ideally they should be all be the same.

Build a brand you can grow with from day one.

Level up your skills, learn new techniques, travel to new places, and bring something back to your practice that sets you apart.

I had the opportunity to train in Thai Yoga Massage at Sunshine Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep adding to your toolbox.

If I were starting a massage business from scratch today, these are 5 things I’d do early.

1️⃣ Lock in my brand name early

Before committing to a name, I’d make sure the domain and social media handles are available and secure them ASAP.

2️⃣ Become known for a specialty

Trying to market to everyone makes it harder to stand out. You can still work with different clients, but give people something specific to know you for.

3️⃣ Choose CEs with a purpose

I wouldn’t take continuing education just to check a box. I’d choose classes that improve my skills in the areas I want to specialize in and help me better serve the clients I want to attract.

4️⃣ Start collecting reviews early

I’d make getting Google reviews part of my process from the beginning. Don’t wait until you “need” reviews to start asking for them.

5️⃣ Separate business and personal finances

Separate accounts. Track expenses. Know what the business is actually making. I’d treat it like a business from day one.

These are all things that become much harder to fix later than they are to set up correctly from the beginning.

Which one would you add to the list?

Many therapists think starting a massage business happens after they leave their employer.

It should start before.

Build your clientele, reputation, and systems while you still have the security of your current job. That way, when you’re ready to make the jump, you’re not starting from zero.

Build before you leap.

If you need help or wanting to know if the time is right for you, shoot me a DM. I offer massage business coaching.

I almost didn’t walk in. Seriously!

I sat in my car for 20 minutes trying to work up the courage to approach a gym about doing a massage promo event. 😬

What helped was having a simple script and knowing exactly what I was going to say.

That same strategy became one of the biggest ways I built my massage clientele.

I break down the exact process, scripts, and setup inside my Promo Events course.

The way I filled my books as a massage therapist was promotional events. 🏋️‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️

I partnered with local gyms and yoga studios, gave people a chance to experience my work, and turned those interactions into new clients.

My video course walks you through exactly how to set up and run these events, from contacting businesses to following up and converting people into paying clients.

Your Google Maps listing can be one of the best ways for new clients to find you! 🗺️

🔑 Important Factors:

📍 Keep your hours updated so people know when you’re actually available.

📸 Add quality photos of your treatment space and photos of you actually working with clients.

📅 Use the “Book Now” button and make it as easy as possible for someone to schedule.

⭐ Ask for detailed reviews. If a client loved your deep tissue, sports massage, prenatal massage, or another specific service, encourage them to mention that in the review.

That can help Google better understand what services you’re known for and can improve your chances of showing up when someone searches for that type of massage in your area.

Your listing shouldn’t just exist. It should make it easy for someone to find you, trust you, and book you.

Referrals can be one of the easiest ways to get new massage clients because the trust is already there.

But don’t just hope your clients tell their friends. Give them a reason to.

A simple referral incentive can work really well, like:

Refer 3 new clients, get 1 massage free.

You could also offer a credit, discount, or free add-on depending on what makes sense for your business.

The key is keeping it simple, easy to explain, and worth sharing.

Your happiest clients can become one of your best marketing tools.

Your website shouldn’t just look good. It needs to help turn searches into new clients.

If someone lands on your website, they should be able to figure out what you offer and what it costs within 5 seconds.

And before they can even get to your website, they have to be able to find it.

🔎 Work toward showing up on the first page of Google organically for the massage services people are actually searching for in your area.

📱 Make your website simple and mobile-friendly.

💆 Make your services easy to find.

💰 Make your pricing clear.

📅 Make booking easy.

Bottom Line:
Your website needs to be easy to find and easy to use.
