Eyes Wide Open II: The Human Cost of War was at Boston Open Streets in Brighton on Sunday. In addition to the installation, we asked passersby’s to sign postcards to their elected officials demanding they take action to investigate the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian schoolchildren in February, and to put an end to this illegal and deadly war.

There was a lot of engagement and the message was clear: end the deadly and unjustified attacks on Iran and their people.

We ask everyone to visit masspeace.us/MinabCampaign to send letters to their members of Congress.

Boston’s Wilbur Theatre cancelled its participation in Palestinian Mahmoud Khalil’s event on September 30 to promote his new memoir “No Land to Stand On.”

Pro-Israel website JNS reports that Wilbur Theatre promoter Bill Blumenreich met with anti-Palestinian protestors outside the theatre, returned inside, and cancelled the theatre’s participation in Khalil’s tour just twenty minutes later before coming back out to shake protestors’ hands.

MA for Palestine sent multiple emails to the Wilbur Theatre asking for a statement but has not received a reply at the time of publishing this post.

Wilbur’s cancellation of Khalil’s event comes weeks after Robert Kraft said he would not permit pro-Palestine rapper Macklemore to perform at Gillette Stadium. Macklemore says billionaire Kraft called other U.S. stadium owners and successfully convinced all of them to follow suit.

Khalil’s event went forward at the Arts of the Armory in Somerville after @brooklinebooksmith , who had partnered with the Wilbur Theatre for this event, refused to cancel its participation in the tour. The event was co-sponsored by @somervilleforpalestine .

Khalil, who was taken by ICE and remains in danger of being deported for his pro-Palestinian activism, began writing his memoir during his 104 days in an ICE prison. by @masspeaceaction

Enough.

Enough of criminal wars, genocide, and the enormous profits flowing to war contractors and oil companies.’

Enough of policies that are devastating communities at home and abroad—from Iran, Palestine, Venezuela and Cuba to our own neighborhoods.

Enough to the power of the Israel lobby over our lives.

Enough of spending trillions on war while families struggle with the rising costs of food, housing, energy, healthcare, childcare, transportation, and education.

Enough of the assault on our country: ICE raids, Racism, Climate destruction, mass surveillance, and government increasingly shaped by billionaire wealth.

Enough kidnappings! Release the President and first lady of Venezuela: Nicolas Maduro and Cilia Flores. Stop the lethal boat strikes across the Caribbean and Pacific.

Enough of Emperor Donald and his courtiers in D.C.

We insist that human needs, peace, justice, democracy, and a livable planet be placed ahead of endless war and corporate profit.
