10 things I take every day:

1. 100% organic coconut water with pink Himalayan sea salt, a brilliant way to replace your electrolytes.
2. Cooked egg yolks (organic), from my neighbours chickens when I can, but leave out the egg whites. Packed full of vitamins and protein.
3. Blueberries or blackberries: they are low in histamine, rich in the natural mast-cell stabilizer quercetin, and packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants that help calm overactive immune responses
4. A few Brazil nuts: because they score low on histamine lists and provide selenium and zinc which may help stabilize mast
cells.
5. Fresh grown herbs from my garden. Fun to watch them grow: basil, rosemary, coriander, thyme and parsley. Adds flavour to dishes and a splash of green to any dish
6. Organic Pukka Camomile tea: chamomile may reduce mast cell-mediated allergic reactions and keeps you hydrated and calm.
7. 90 grams of protein a day: Your body relies on protein to repair tissues, heal wounds, and recover from illness or injury. Choose the freshest organic meat. My butcher understands histamine issues, and freezes it for me in bulk so I can collect when I run low. What a ⭐
8. pumpkin and chia seeds: high in fibre, omega 3, calcium, magnesium, also packed full with zinc and iron to strengthen immune function and fight cell damage.
9. Organic carrots or broccoli: carrots for boosting immune function, and promoting heart health due to their rich supply of beta-carotene, fiber, and potassium, broccoli is high in Vitamin C for immunity and Vitamin K, also helps stabilise mast cells apparently? Worth a try 😊
10: A 30 minute walk in natural light, hard when it’s over 30 degree heat, but sunset and sunrise walks are great for your nervous system, and offer some beautiful views

If something doesn’t feel right, then it’s not right, and holding onto something mentally can also impact you physically. I’ve kept quiet in the past, held my tongue, put up with bad behaviour, held onto tears and grief, listened to ill informed doctors…. and well done to me for holding it together and destroying my nervous and immune system.

It takes courage to advocate for your own physical and mental heath, but please stand up for yourself. You have a right to be heard not silenced whether it’s by the ones around you or medical professionals. It won’t do you any good keeping it in. If you’re waiting to get better before taking that trip, you could be waiting a long time. Yes I had symptoms, yes I had to take all my medication and supplements and yes, sometimes I had to go to bed to sleep as felt awful…. But I did see some amazing things. There were times I completely forgot about my symptoms, I laughed, I explored, I looked after myself as best I could and I survived. I’m not better, I just can’t put my life on hold any more, and maybe that’s where the real healing starts? Making memories, not talking about symptoms, and finding glimmer moments you can manage. Do it scared, do it with anxiety, as Nike would say ‘just do it’ Do one thing to bring you joy today. What is it? Comment below 🩶

Brands I love! If you are very sensitive around the 🐈‍⬛ area then you might want to consider changing your loo roll. That’s right. Most brands are heavily bleached, and use harsh chemicals that irritate reactive skin.
