Master Builders' Queensland 2026 Women in Building Award went to Amanda Wilson from @fergus_builders in Mackay & Whitsunday at Saturday's Housing & Construction Awards.

See the full list of Queensland winners via link in bio.

After starting out in accounting, Amanda quickly realised her true passion and joined a local builder. A move to Mackay proved pivotal, where her work running a building comparison business led to an offer to join Fergus Builders. 14 years on, Amanda’s drive has seen her rise through the ranks to become Residential Manager, streamlining business practices, gaining peers’ and clients’ trust, and mentoring and empowering other women, all while studying full-time. Amanda’s leadership and passion make her an inspiration.

Master Builders' Queensland 2026 Apprentice of the Year Award was won by Harrison Tooth from Davey Constructions on the Gold Coast at Saturday's Housing & Construction Awards.

See the full list of Queensland winners via link in bio.

Our judges met Harrison while out viewing projects this year – and as he gave them a guided tour, they were blown away with his building knowledge, and the quality of the work that he has produced, which clearly showed his attention to detail and dedication to his craft.

A fourth-year carpentry apprentice with Davey Constructions, he is articulate and passionate about the industry. With Harrison representing the future of construction, we are in very safe hands.

🏆 This is @masterbuildersqld Queensland’s House of the Year for 2026!

And it’s not hard to see why.

Meet Azura, a spectacular three-storey waterfront home in Mooloolaba, built by @tysonbuildinggroup

With its dramatic roofline, sweeping curves and sculptural staircase, this architectural masterpiece is impressive enough above ground. But it’s what lies beneath that makes it even more extraordinary.

A basement built around 1.8 metres below the high-tide level houses a car lift, gym and wine cellar. There’s also a passenger lift, stunning natural stone finishes and an incredible connection to the water.

Azura took out the top honour at last night’s Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards, along with awards for Best Residential Kitchen, Best Residential Swimming Pool and Individual Home over $10 million.

Swipe through and tell me — which feature impresses you most? 👀
