NEW EPISODE ( link in bio ) Recorded outside the shop at 9pm under a leaky roof, waiting on a roofer — we chose optimism and hit record anyway. This episode is a heartfelt tour through Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in formats built for real life: indestructible baby books, Pete the Cat’s cozy vibes, Eric Carle-inspired lift-the-flap surprises, and a shadow book that turns a flashlight into a home theater.

We also get real about why we keep going — because finishing a season together matters, and because a beloved bookstore deserves that care. We close with a Twinkle Twinkle duet, big batteries, and a plan to ride out the storm with good books.

We cannot thank our friend Tim Kerr enough for putting his trust in us to reissue the 1984 debut album by Poison 13. This was a true labor of love for us. Special thanks to the team behind the reissue, including Pat Blashill for the outstanding photography, Aaron Tanner for the fantastic design, Sean Glonek for the new vinyl master, and Scott Hull who cut lacquers. The reissue looks and sounds amazing! Pre-orders have begun at ALR-Music.com and RedParakeetRecords.com

Few artists successfully transcend multiple music categories, exposing their influences and roots while flavoring our senses with the sights and sounds of their culture. Sergio Mendes, who passed away yesterday at the age of 83, was such a musician. I'll never forget the first time his version of Jorge Ben's "Mais Que Nada" swam through my radio, thinking, "What is this incredible sound?!" His impact on the musical landscape is massive, and "that's not nothing." by @masterdisk_nyc

One of my favorite things about mastering records is developing a high level of trust with the artist. Working closely with their music through the years, and always exceeding their expectations, never gets old. Such was the case with @whitesnake's new collection, “Into the Light,” to be released on vinyl, Oct. 25, 2024. Thanks to @rhino_records for pressing David’s solo material, ensuring it sees the light of day. by @masterdisk_nyc

On the heels of the television and movie industries coming to terms with streaming accreditation, @applemusic is now requiring artist credit listings for all new music uploads. These "Contributor Representation" requirements are a big step in the right direction, and we applaud @apple for taking the lead on this subject. Thanks to @symphonicdistro for this chart listing some specifics. by @masterdisk_nyc
