Wow, what a wildly profound, confronting, initiatory year this has been. They say ‘be careful what you ask for.’ 😉

I remember moving towards the end of last year asking for a sort of ‘rupture.’ Not for chaos, but for the opportunity to experience emotions bigger than myself; to develop and nurture a container capable of holding greater depths without being completely taken out by them. An individual and collective pattern, it seems, that we are navigating as the currents of the field usher us through uncertainty and into collective change.

Through depth psychology studies I have explored, this is part of the journey~ allowing oneself to sink into the depths and to meet, and even court the medicine of the rupture. To learn how to remain embodied and present with what is difficult. And I have been calling this in, both for my own growing capacity and with this, a richer capacity and toolbox to witness and hold space for others moving through big things too.

Some of these initiations were consciously sought, through stepping into experiences that guided me beyond my thresholds and into the unknown. My next direction of Vision Quest being one of them. Others arrived like a strong gust of Cape Town wind, quite literally knocking me off my feet, leaving me with little choice but to surrender, to sink in, and meet what is present. To experience, in the body, the forces of life calling me forward into the next phase.

And so I sit here in the ninth month of the year, looking back at all that has shifted, unravelled, broken open, and changed. In many ways, I feel stripped bare, exposed, vulnerable, and yet wide open, more intuitive, receptive, more in my body than I have ever been. An unbecoming to reveal what is authentic and what is no longer aligned with the path. A call to a more embodied, sovereign self.

It is through these initiations, both self-imposed and driven by circumstance and karma, that we are offered a chance at more authentic ways of being in the world.

And with that, I honour the path. I honour the process. I honour the humility it takes to walk through these ebbs and flows of rupture and change while trying to keep a curious, open heart♥️ by @mata.earth

I’ve been contemplating what it truly means to hold a container.

Witnessing the immense growth of the wellness and spiritual space over recent years has brought me into deeper reflection around my own work. What am I really offering? What makes a container a good container? What does it mean to hold people well?

There was a time when my curiosity and this spiritual seeking had me on a journey of exploring various modalities. I wanted to learn more, understand more, gather more perspectives. And while that journey taught me a great deal, I’ve come to recognise the difference between collecting tools and embodying a practice.

The deeper I journey into my own practices, the more I realise that depth comes from developing an intimate relationship with the work that continually calls you home. I guess in this way, I will probably always consider myself a student. With my head bowed to the depth and mystery of this path, and my hands open to what there is still to learn as I deepen into my own embodied journey of living this work in the day-to-day.

Because a container is not simply a structure, an agenda, or a collection of practices. It requires boundaries and intention, but also accountability to what is alive in the moment. The ability to listen beyond the plan and respond to what is actually emerging in the field.

The most impactful containers I’ve experienced held both structure and flow. A grounded framework that created safety, paired with the freedom to move with what was unfolding. For me, this is where integrity lives.

Not in having all the answers, nor in rigidly following a process, but in knowing your work deeply enough that you can remain present to what is actually happening in the room.

So in this way, I contemplate on the thought that holding a container is less about leading and more about stewardship which anchors me into alignment with my offerings.

Tending the fire. Listening carefully. Remaining in service to the moment and the group.

And this brings me closer to the containers I want to create and hold, as well as the people I want to collaborate and co-create with.

There comes a moment in a woman's life when the answers are no longer found in doing more.

They are found in creating space.

Space to soften.
Space to listen.
Space to hear what has been whispering beneath the noise.

The wise woman knows that clarity is not something she must chase. It reveals itself when she slows down enough to receive it.

Held by ancient landscapes, open skies, and the rhythms of the natural world, we gather in Namibia to remember.

To tend to the inner fire.
To reconnect with what matters.
To honour what is ending.
To welcome what is ready to emerge.

Beyond the doing and the striving, there is presence.

And beneath the expectations, responsibilities, and stories we carry, there is a deeper knowing.

Given space, it always finds its way home.

Namibia calls... 🏜️

Wide open landscapes.
Endless skies.
Ancient silence.

A place where the noise softens, the nervous system exhales, and you can finally hear yourself again.

If you’ve been longing for space, perhaps this is your sign.

‘But what if you have not lost your creativity? What if you have lost your intimacy with life? … To create, you must first become available to be affected. You must allow life to disturb your certainty.

And intimacy is not something you have only with another person. It is the way you enter your own body. The way you listen when someone is speaking. The way you allow grief, longing, beauty, and desire to leave an imprint.’

I received these beautiful reflections on a mailer from @cbmeditates the other day, and they really captured me. The words seemed to arrive at the same moment this theme was emerging in various conversations, inquiries, and observations unfolding around me. —>

My client, dear friend, and teacher, @bernardbrom, shared a reflection that felt deeply connected~ ‘When awe and wonder disappear, one knows that the thinking mind has captured us’

Together, we sat with what feels alive in the collective field right now. There seems to be an inherited pattern of our time. A tendency to become caught in the cognitive mind, in the endless processing of information, analysis, and meaning-making. In doing so, something within the way we navigate life begins to flatten. A subtle inertia takes hold, and we lose our capacity to be in dialogue with our life, we allow ourselves to be too overstimulated to be able to be captivated by life. —>

The beauty of a shifting cloud. The call of a bird. A moment of unexpected tenderness. The way the ocean meets the shore. The quiet ache of longing. The simple miracle of being here.

When awe and wonder begin to disappear, we tend to lose our intimacy with life. We become occupied with the weight of the past or the uncertainty of the future, and our relationship with the present moment starts to thin. —>

Perhaps the invitation is not to do more, understand more, or figure more out. Perhaps it is to find more ways to soften. To open ourselves up through playful curiosity to whats available in the moment. To re-enter into dialogue with life itself. To remember eros not only as desire, but as the life force that draws us into relationship with the world. To allow ourselves to be moved by beauty. To pause when something to by @mata.earth

The Essence of mātā

~ At its root, mā means “to measure”. The act of giving finite shape to the infinite. This is the deepest essence of what mātā embodies.

We are the measurers. Not in the sense of judgment, but in the ancient feminine art of creating containers. Of taking life’s vast, formless transitions and giving them shape, boundary, meaning. Of measuring out the sacred from the ordinary through intentional gathering.

mātā exists in thresholds… thresholds are the space between where potential becomes real, where the vast unknown takes shape as the next chapter of life.

Every gathering we curate, every retreat we hold, every ritual we design is an act of sacred measurement, creating just enough container to hold transformation, just enough structure to let wildness feel safe, just enough form to let formlessness dance.

We don’t measure to constrain. We measure to create space for emergence. Like the mother’s womb that gives shape to new life, we create the conditions where whatever wants to be born can take form. 🌀 by @mata.earth

Life moves fast… Don’t forget to slow down 🌀🌱

It is often only when we create spaciousness that fresh insight can emerge. A space for deeper enquiry. A space to bring awareness to what no longer serves. To release old stories, outdated patterns, and ways of being that have quietly shaped how we move through the world.

In that spaciousness, we begin to remember what is true. We reconnect with our essence and step forward in deeper alignment with the woman we are becoming.

EVOLVE is an invitation into that journey.

Held within the vast and wild landscapes of Namibia, this women’s retreat offers a space to pause, reflect, reconnect, and consciously step into your next chapter.

If something within you is stirring… A longing you can’t quite name, a quiet voice asking for more… perhaps this is the invitation you’ve been waiting for.

To learn more, reach out to arrange a call or visit our website to explore the retreat and reserve your place.
