Wow, what a wildly profound, confronting, initiatory year this has been. They say ‘be careful what you ask for.’ 😉

I remember moving towards the end of last year asking for a sort of ‘rupture.’ Not for chaos, but for the opportunity to experience emotions bigger than myself; to develop and nurture a container capable of holding greater depths without being completely taken out by them. An individual and collective pattern, it seems, that we are navigating as the currents of the field usher us through uncertainty and into collective change.

Through depth psychology studies I have explored, this is part of the journey~ allowing oneself to sink into the depths and to meet, and even court the medicine of the rupture. To learn how to remain embodied and present with what is difficult. And I have been calling this in, both for my own growing capacity and with this, a richer capacity and toolbox to witness and hold space for others moving through big things too.

Some of these initiations were consciously sought, through stepping into experiences that guided me beyond my thresholds and into the unknown. My next direction of Vision Quest being one of them. Others arrived like a strong gust of Cape Town wind, quite literally knocking me off my feet, leaving me with little choice but to surrender, to sink in, and meet what is present. To experience, in the body, the forces of life calling me forward into the next phase.

And so I sit here in the ninth month of the year, looking back at all that has shifted, unravelled, broken open, and changed. In many ways, I feel stripped bare, exposed, vulnerable, and yet wide open, more intuitive, receptive, more in my body than I have ever been. An unbecoming to reveal what is authentic and what is no longer aligned with the path. A call to a more embodied, sovereign self.

It is through these initiations, both self-imposed and driven by circumstance and karma, that we are offered a chance at more authentic ways of being in the world.

And with that, I honour the path. I honour the process. I honour the humility it takes to walk through these ebbs and flows of rupture and change while trying to keep a curious, open heart♥️
