I said if I ever painted Kurt it would a depiction of the moment that got burnt into my mind when watching Nirvana MTV Unplugged towards the end of the song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". That's where Kurt takes in his breath and his face displays a mix of emotions I can't even explain, the eyes open wide from the moment prior when they were closed and it feels like he breathes in the entire life itself. It is also one of my favorite songs of theirs even though they had so many good songs that it's hard to decide on a very favorite one. I put Kurt under some very powerful PNW skies and in a place where I imagined he would find peace. I purposefully extracted him from the noisy environment full of people into a serene scenery with a lake and nature filled with pine trees which is what the song's lyrics also mention no matter the fact that the song is pretty grim and so it is what happened to him.

I would be super happy if this would get to his daughter Frances. Any help spreading it would be much appreciated. Maybe she would like this portrayal of her father.

Welcoming Matej Anzin (@matejanzinart) to Edition 5 of the RTIA Show this September 17-20.

Born in Slovenia while still under the communist regime of former Yugoslavia, Matej Anzin started drawing and painting at an early age. He studied Slovenian late masters of Impressionism, which shaped his own style of painting and perception of art as a whole. After graduating from Industrial Design in Slovenia, he moved to California where he continued pursuing his art. He now resides in rural Washington where he draws inspiration from the picturesque Pacific Northwest.

Matej joins the Galleries & Studios segment of the RTIA Show next month.

Not everything is what it seems or what you had been programmed to see. As a matter of fact, none of that is. the world had been hijacked and the most prevalent and efficient form of hijacking is through imagery. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words. #art #swastika #usa #2026 #revolution #picture #words #media #history by @matejanzinart
