❄️ SUNDANCE SPOTLIGHT ❄️

Mateo Nossa’s score for THE MUSICAL fuses classic Hitchcock-era orchestral suspense with modern synthesizers, using bold character themes and propulsive energy to externalize the film’s psychological tension and emotional stakes.

THE MUSICAL premieres January 25 at 12:00pm the Eccles Theater.

The Musical is going to Sundance!

This film has been such a special project to score. Huge love to the brilliant @locanilla for bringing me onboard, and to the whole cast and crew for their magic.

Special shoutout to my music team—couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for helping me bring this score home. @francomedinamora @jrurrusti @andreschwebel_composer

It was so wonderful to finally be able to hang out with the team! Screening Rata and The Bullfighter with an audience was awesome.

Thank you @locanilla for binging me into these projects! They are always such an amazing, wild ride.

Besides our films @laliff_ has had such an incredible selection of films! by @mateonossa

My peeps! @a.wintory is doing a contest and the track really spoke to me. I love the non-vibrato and raw bow texture of the Nyckelharpa, so I doubled down on it. That's me on cellos, flutes and some electric guitar shenanigans! It's all about that texture! https://soundcloud.com/mateo-nossa/pathless-texture taken in New York, New York by @mateonossa
