Dropping our daughter, Sydney, off for her freshman year at Northern Michigan University was easily one of the hardest things we’ve ever done as parents. 💚💛
We officially drove away from Marquette, but it truly feels like we left half of our hearts behind in the Upper Peninsula. Coming back home to such a quiet house is a completely surreal feeling. The silence is deafening, and the adjustment is so unbelievably tough.
Even through the tears, we are bursting with pride. We know she is going to do amazing things both in the classroom and in the pool as a Wildcat on the swim team! 🏊‍♀️💨

23 years ago today I married my best friend and the love of my life Ryan Matheny! There have been ups, downs, pivots, and windy roads but I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side navigating all that life has decided to send our way.

Today we also get celebrate Father’s Day for him as well! Our kids are lucky to have such an amazing dad. He is their loudest cheerleader, biggest supporter, best advice giver, the one full of dad jokes, and always knows the newest lingo (even if he doesn’t use it correctly)! Our kids wouldn’t have turned out as great as they are without you guiding them! by @mathenymom

A huge thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our Sydney Matheny and her bestie Molly at their graduation party. We had a beautiful day shared with amazing family and friends!! I wish I had taken more pictures, I don’t even have one of the girls but I was having too much fun talking with everyone!!
A huge shoutout and thank you to Sydney’s amazing boyfriend Zac for all his help with setting up and restocking things throughout the party as well as clean up!!

Its official!!! Marquette bound! Syd signed her letter of intent to Northern Michigan University today! Watch out UP (upper penninsula)! It’s has been a whirlwind month of March and we are just a little over half way through and we still have another big celebration coming up.
*Sydney attended her Sectional Swim meet from Wednesday-Sunday last week which included Ryan and I driving back and forth to Mizzou multiple times!
* My baby turned 18 while at the swim meet!! I dont even know how this is possible!
* Once she was home we were able to celebrate her and let her open her gifts.
*Sydney’s boyfriend had his birthday 2 days after hers so she made him a Lightning McQueen Cake!
*Went prom dress shopping with Sydney & and found her PERFECT dress!!
*Last night her boyfriend and friends threw her a surprise shark/monkey themed party and completely surprised her. They then blindfolded her and took her to Top Golf!!
Then they came back for cake and stayed up talking until almost 4 am🤣

Thank you to Iced Craft Cakery for the most amazing cake!!! 🎂
