@haverhillpride street photos. I love that street photography can be used to support a community or a cause. Did you make it to a Pride event this month?

My @leica_camera M6 has been glued to my side since getting it a month ago. I’ve never had a camera inspire me to shoot like this one has. Here’s a few of my favorite frames, all shot in @kodak film. For more of my photography check out my photo-only account @matt.devino

Boston feels different. There’s no other city that has the same kind of historic world mashed together with the modern, not even NYC. My walks to work will include guys dressed in Revolutionary War garb next to people who are probably millionaires. It’s fun to watch, and more fun to shoot.

Shot on @leica_camera M10-R and edited with @reallyniceimages profiles.

When I think of good photography I don’t think “perfect pretty pictures”. Those are a dime a dozen, especially these days when everyone has a robot in their pocket doing image processing on the fly. I just want to make images that make you feel something. Feeling is imperfect, the imperfections of being a human are what’s interesting. Maybe that’s why so many of us are drawn to shooting film and all of its drawbacks compared to digital, it feels more human. I don’t think I’ve ever shot a truly good photo, but I sure enjoy trying.

Trains. I spend good amount of time on them these days commuting into Boston. It’s a big departure from what I was used to in LA, where public transportation is mediocre at best. You can get a lot done on a train. Work. Pay your bills. Read a book. Or just look out the window and take in the sights, and in my case usually with a camera in hand. You’d be surprised what you can capture with a little timing and luck. Here’s a few frames from my recent voyages.

Recycling.

This was my first time shooting Tungsten film in daylight, Reflx Labs 640T, and really wasn’t sure how it would come out. Straight out of camera it was definitely not this, and it took a lot more work in post to balance than I expected (I used Negative Lab Pro for all of my camera scans and color correction). I got it to a place I’m happy with, but I don’t think I’ll be shooting this stock in daylight on purpose again.

Anywhere here’s my neighbor’s fun little flower bed.

More classic 35mm goodness from @todayspursuit “Pathfinder” 320D (respooled Kodak Verita Motion Picture Film). @mutinymike is doing good things for us analog shooters.

Shot in Leica M6, self processed and scanned.

Time is a flat circle, and so is a roller rink.

Fun with second curtain sync flash and my favorite digicam the @leica_camera M10-R.

Are pigeons the most photographed bird in the world? We sure do love our sky rats.

Let’s see your pigeon photos in the comments, I know you have one.

Humanity in Downtown Boston, shot on Pathfinder/Kodak Verita.

Detailed highlights, high color saturation, deep blacks — that classically cinematic look. Verita is a solid film stock imho.

Which frame is your favorite? 1-7
