Sneak peek of my pop up display for tonight’s first ever Rising FoundHers sponsored event.

I’m so thrilled to be part of this evening, an intimate fireside chat on women’s health featuring local physicians Dr. Daniela Accurso (@fortiva.wellness) and Dr. Danielle Savage (@docinyourcorner). Add to that a hands-on charcuterie experience, custom-built by Cartisan (@cheese.cred) and this night couldn’t get any better.

Rising FoundHers brings together hyperlocal women founders and entrepreneurs, creating opportunities to connect, collaborate, and support our growing businesses within our community. It’s been such a meaningful experience to be a part of this group since its beginning. This network of strong, powerful and supportive women has been influential in matte’s journey.

seriously, this overhaul of organizing and inventorying all my porcelain and metal has been rough... but I’ve definitely learned a few things along the way.

1. start keeping track of what you have early. write down numbers, colors, styles, anything you can jot down quickly.

2. document your costs. if you made it, account for your time and materials. if you bought it, save the product link and what you paid for it (especially with metal prices skyrocketing these days).

3. do your quality control early. get rid of the maybe ill use it one day mentality. you’d be surprised at the size of my seconds bin at this point...

4. make your system easy to maintain. give things a labeled home, and keep the records simple enough that you’ll actually update them.

if you’re in the middle of your own studio reset, I’d love to hear what you’re learning as you go. 🤍

today’s studio reality: a tiny baggie of 14k gold filled jump rings with a surprisingly high street value.

i’m deep into inventory right now, counting and organizing all the little findings that go into each piece. not exactly the glamorous side of jewelry making, but it keeps me on my game.

So happy to see Paige and The Life featured in Millburn & Short Hills Magazine. We’ve been working together for over four years now, and matte has always felt so at home there.

One of my favorite things about working with Paige is seeing how she styles matte with all of the stunning pieces she brings into The Life. Everything there is intentionally curated and beautifully presented; it’s definitely worth a visit.

Also, feeling pretty honored to be called THE jewelry staple. 🤍

Oh happy day! The studio reset is complete.

I have reworked the furniture layout to better support how I use the room and purged unnecessary things, throwing out and donating lots and putting less-used items into basement storage.

I also created a more thoughtful approach to how my space dictates my workflow, my efficiency, and even my creativity. I haven’t replaced all the artwork on the walls yet, but I’ll think deeply about that too.

I feel lighter, super proud, and ready to get back to work!

Of course, the next big job is still not complete: creating an inventory system for my finished and unfinished pieces, as well as supply items. Bring on the spreadsheets! If anyone has any good methodologies, by all means, please share!

But for now, I’m just enjoying the fact that I actually want to be in here again! taken in Chester, New Jersey by @matte.porcelain
