It’s been way too long since we’ve taken a moment to introduce ourselves. So hey, hi, how you doing?

We’re Kathy and Matt, together with our teammate Brian we help people buy and sell homes across the Twin Cities. But if you’ve been her for a while, you know this page has always been about more than real estate.

We love old houses, neighborhood restaurants, flowers, books, long walks and all the little things that make living here so special.

I believe in public schools. I believe they build strong communities and help make strong neighborhoods. Our kids went to Minneapolis Public Schools. Our kids went to Kenny.

We have so many memories of Kenny, from tears on the first day and the last and everything in between, science fairs, variety shows, fall festivals and the teachers and the friends they made and we made. ❤️

As I drive around the neighborhood and see these signs I think about our memories. And what this school means to our community. But as someone who works in real estate. I also think about the strength of a neighborhood and its schools and how much they matter to the value of the homes around them.

One thing builds on another. Our kids have been through a lot this year. Stability in their schools and their communities should not be added to the list.

So today I’m asking you to please contact your school board representatives and ask them to delay the vote. Public input closes October 16. They vote November 10. And we vote for new representation November 3. It’s an interesting timeline. Pay attention and please save our schools! taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota by @mattengengroup
