I know you probably won’t believe it, but I’m over 50.

And yes, everything you see is real. No filters, no tricks, no fucking shortcuts. Just years of discipline, hard work, sacrifice, and investing in myself and thanks to the help of my p.t. @dlv.andrea.pt

I may not be the most likable person in the world — and I’m perfectly fine with that. But today, on my birthday, I can look back and say something not everyone gets to say:

Everything I truly wanted to achieve, I achieved.
Everywhere I wanted to go, I got there.

It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t supposed to be. I worked like crazy, I took risks, I made mistakes, I fell, I got back up, and I kept moving forward.

And today, I’m proud of myself.

Did I do everything right? Fuck no.

If there’s one part of my life where I could have done better, it’s relationships and love. I gave too little space to feelings and to the people who truly mattered. Sometimes I chose the wrong people, and other times I wasn’t the person a relationship needed me to be.

Maybe now it’s time to put the same energy, discipline, and commitment into that part of my life too.

This is my birthday reflection.

Over 50. Still hungry. Still moving. Still improving. And still in fucking shape.

But most of all, I can say I’ve built a life I’m proud of.

I hope that one day, when you look back, you’ll be as satisfied with your life as I am with mine.

It’s been a wonderful seven days, even if you had some difficulty starting out, but the people I’ve met, those I’ve already met, and those I’ve experienced more deeply have been just as wonderful! Even though this time was a business trip, it’s my third time in this magical and wonderful archipelago/island nation, and each time it leaves me with something inexplicable, a reunion with myself that silences all my fears, giving me an incredible boost to start my life anew!

The Court is, above all, about people. A small, close-knit team that represents the roots and soul of this iconic place in Rome. Among them is Paola, whose journey began from the ground up and, thanks to her talent, energy, intelligence and remarkable personality, has led her to become our Assistant General Manager. Today, she is a key part of The Court, overseeing events and building relationships with our guests, partners and the wider bar community.

Day three, Thursday, at Roma Bar Show.

The biggest surprise of these three days was definitely Dragan Milivojevich and Papercut, a bar from Austin, Texas, which, like us, holds two Pinnacle Pins.

This year, we decided to invest in and support bars selected by the Pinnacle Guide, rather than relying on the same guides everyone else follows. And I have to say, Papercut truly surprised us — from the quality of the drinks to the hospitality.

But above all, meeting Dragan was a beautiful experience. He is a wonderful person who shared every day with us, joined every event, and became part of this incredible experience.

He left us with some truly special memories.

We hope to see you again very soon, Dragan.

DAY 3 — ROMA BAR SHOW

Day three of RBS was all about beauty, kindness, talent, and that unmistakable energy and charisma that women bring to our industry.

We were incredibly happy and honored to welcome Beckaly Franks and Ezra Star, two inspiring figures in the international bar scene and the women behind @Artifact_bar in Hong Kong.

Beyond the friendship we share and the enormous respect we have for them, having Beckaly and Ezra behind the bar at The Court was truly special.

They brought their experience, personality, talent, and their unique approach to hospitality to Rome, turning the night into a beautiful moment of sharing, connection, and great drinks.

Having them with us in our envent’s third day during Roma Bar Show was an absolute privilege.

Forget the image of the serious, disciplined Japanese “bar samurai” — Toru is something completely different. A true bar chameleon: brilliant, hilarious, unpredictable, and absolutely magnetic.

More than a bartender, he’s an entertainer, a friend, a brother behind the bar….The kind of person who can turn a shift into a party and make everyone feel part of it.

Bar Show, Day Two continued with the extraordinary Bar Gabriel from Istanbul, one of the bars we love most in the world, led by its brilliant owner and our dear friend Osman Baykan.

We were thrilled to bring the vibrant spirit of the Middle East and Turkey to The Court … A world of rich culinary heritage, bold spices, layered flavours, and time-honoured traditions. It was fresh, unexpected, and truly exciting.
