The artwork is dominated by theatrical crimson red and arranged in vertical registers: inverted monochrome figures falling from the top beneath a chandelier; an all-seeing camera-eye hovering above a veiled officiant holding an hourglass and an empty throne; a diagonal yellow WARNING barrier tape guarded by raised fists; and a foreground congregation seen from behind wearing orange coveralls marked with corporate social media logos, arms raised toward the sanctuary. taken in Saatchi Gallery Kings Road by @matthew_morpheus

MATTHEW MORPHEUS at the British Art Fair 2026

The Relative Gallery presents @matthew_morpheus this September at @saatchi_gallery, with our booth curated by @odessoart as part of DIGITALISM, the wider British Art Fair section curated by @rebekahtolleydigitalist.

Matthew Morpheus is a Ukrainian conceptual artist based in Scotland. His interdisciplinary practice spans digital collage, painting, drawing and installation.

His work examines political mythology, structures of power, collective memory and the ways contemporary media shape our understanding of reality.

At British Art Fair, Morpheus will present a curated series of six works, led by the monumental CULT (2026), showcased using InkPoster’s innovative large-scale colour ePaper technology.

CULT considers the forces that shape collective belief, bringing together fragmented symbols of power, ideology and devotion within a densely constructed digital collage.

Zozobra: An Exhibition of International Contemporary Political and Social Art

Suture Zone is proud to release the first on-line exhibition called Zozobra.

https://www.suture.zone

In the shadow of the great metropolises, where art meets infinity, lives Matthew Morpheus - a master of abstraction whose real name, Serhii Matveichenko, reflects his Ukrainian heritage. He is an artist whose work has been honored with international awards and recognition, from Beijing to New York, from Moscow to the UK - the heart of Europe, where every stroke and every color embodies innovation and passion.

Having lived in Ukraine, Israel, Germany and now the UK, Morpheus has turned his art and philosophy into a cosmopolitan dialogue in which each piece is a letter to the world, full of symbolism and deep meaning.

His techniques are a symbiosis of the traditional and the contemporary, where abstractions created with gel pens, fluorescent cosmic landscapes and collages on current themes become a bridge between reality and fantasy. The artist's work fully conveys the atmosphere of the New Age concept of the 21st century, with its unique new cultural diversity and unusual genres and ideas.

Matthew Morpheus is not just an artist; he is a philosopher of his time, whose works are a mirror of the 21st century, reflecting new cultural diversity and unusual genres that together create a portrait of the modern world, full of contrasts and discoveries.
