Year: 2018 Medium: Gel roll pen on paper Dimensions: 56 x 76 cm Matthew Morpheus (Serhii Matveichenko) is a Ukrainian conceptual artist and author whose multidisciplinary practice spans digital collage, painting, installation, and literature. Drawing on a nomadic, multicultural background across Ukraine, Israel, Germany, and the UK, Morpheus interrogates the intersections of identity, displacement, conscious perception, and contemporary symbolism. His visual language utilizes fragmented imagery and layered, non-linear narratives to construct spaces where the viewer's personal interpretation completes the artwork. This year Digitalism was rocking @britishartfair along with @inkposter_official Our 40 inch Tela made a debut in London and I got a chance to hug my favorite artists from all over the world❤️ @rebekahtolleydigitalist got together 80 artists and I can’t thank her enough to make it happen. And no, I am not tired to answer 1000s questions about technology or explain that it’s not a print. But my legs are pretty tired though😅 Tell next art adventures everyone!

Guided by instinct and her surroundings, she works spontaneously with a camera, finding unexpected compositions in colour, light and natural forms. Her photographs invite a slower kind of looking, drawing attention to details that can easily pass unnoticed. Her work has also become increasingly personal. Through series including The Art of Letting Go and Evolution of Self, she explores vulnerability and self-reflection, allowing photography to become a way of expressing thoughts and feelings that are not always easy to share. Contemporary artists in the heart of Melbourne. Across a series of public presentations, works by Lara van Huyssteen, Juan González Iglesias (†®), Mina Todorović, MAKEDONKA KRSTEVA TODOROVSKI, Matthew Morpheus, ILMA MAZRIMIENĖ, and Kwame Lanto appeared on large-scale digital billboards at Flinders Street Station. Positioned at one of Melbourne’s most recognisable meeting points, the works entered the city’s daily visual landscape within the wider cultural precinct surrounding Federation Square, The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia and ACMI. NGV International and Arts Centre Melbourne are also a short walk away across Princes Bridge. For our international artists, these presentations offer an opportunity for their work to be encountered far beyond the studio, within the centre of a city internationally recognised for its art and culture. Through abstract, surreal worlds and sculptural forms, she translates thoughts and feelings into images, using the creative process to explore emotions, dreams and memories. Her REM-Sleep works sit within this wider interest in dreaming and inner experience. His practice uses an approach he calls “non-prompting”, combining limited initial instructions with careful selection of the resulting imagery. Unexpected outcomes become material for artistic exploration, with his choices shaping the work as it develops. Presented under the title UNPROMPTED, his works introduce unfamiliar figures and entities emerging through this process. The presentation brings attention to the relationship between chance and intention, and the artist’s role in recognising and selecting possibilities within unpredictable results.
