Cannes recap! Still processing & reminiscing on an incredible 10 days 💌 Feels surreal to finally begin sharing @sobeit.film with the world, I couldn’t ask for a better first audience.

Many thanks to @americanpavilion & @goldhouseco for inviting So Be It to this year’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and making our time so special. I’m so grateful to be a part of a craft and community I absolutely adore.

ALL OF MY FEELINGS is going to NYC! We are THRILLED to premiere at the @chelseafilmfestival this October in the US Short Films category.

We brought this film to life with a talented team of young creatives, many of whom found us through an IG post; we raised funds purely through crowdfunding, trusting in our community and the creative network around us. This film was made to spark connection and conversation about the human experience – and now, we’re so excited to share this labor of love back with a larger community.

Truly such an honor to be part of a festival dedicated to emerging filmmakers and independent voices. Endless gratitude to our crew, cast, donors, friends, family, and sponsors who made this possible. Thank you so so much.

Tickets are available to the general public, we hope to see you there! #chelseafilmfestival #CFFNY25

a few days away and here we are with another drastic style change😂💔but it’s okay cuz I still like the way it turned out😗 referenced from one of y’all’s pics but i forgot who again😐 I’m so sorry. some other thoughts….

1. HAD FUN WITH COLORRRS, tried to exaggerate some tones especially in the background and I think it works nice ! Purple got its subtle moment today

2. Okay shapes🫢 really pushed that today! I like da blob trees

3. Kinda wish I pushed the stylization of the poses and anatomy a bit more for some more comedy/story but I’ll keep that in mind for next time!

(another Heavy Paint piece of course)

Day 14🛫🛬 used one of y’all’s pics for today but I don’t remember who😭 thank you so much to everyone who sent some stuff in I’ve got such a solid bank now to work from😈 very inspiring 😝Here are today’s thoughts !

1. Another good experience using Heavy Paint! But kinda feel like I played it safe! I really didn’t take many (if any) creative liberties it was more of a look and draw day, which is okay!

2. With future pieces I do wanna pull away more from the reference and not get caught up in the details and accuracy but I think this one’s fine for today, still a good study!

3. Colors got a lil muddy😗 but I’m really into the body of the plane I think I nailed the color harmony in there✅🧀🐕

Day 13 ! self portrait😮 I literally have the fattest crush on Heavy Paint that program is just. Exquisite.

1. This one was so fun and so fast!! Maybe an hour or so? Tried to keep it shapey minus the rendering on the face!

2. Definitely experimented with some more of the brushes today and love the way they move. I feel like I’m moreso allowing the medium to do its thing rather than forcing it to do what I want which is so so refreshing

3. Finding myself exploring color in such a different way thanks to this software- it definitely does the hard work for you but I’ve genuinely learned so much about color harmony just by letting the default settings take over. SO COOL🤯🤯

This is why its good to try new things

Day 12! My first attempt at Heavy Paint! @heavypoly AND WOAH IM A BIG FANNN👏👏🤯 this is the first time I have ever felt like I was painting while doing digital art. I am amazed. I wish I tried this program out sooner😭

1. This literally looks like a plein air painting and I did it on my iPad. Thats crazy. :0

2. My workflow for this piece felt so organic and familiar despite it being my first go- I cant’t wait to play around with it more to see how I can push it further!

3. Not sure how to critique this one- I honestly just had such a blast working on it- process wise its one of my favs of the month❤️❤️ if you’re an artist who started traditional and then went digital- try this app right now. Trust.

Day 11😮 (maybe I’ll do a quick one to catch up) I was a bit bored by my pencil sketch so I went ham with the distort tool in photoshop and went to town😈

1. Out of all the styles I’ve tried out so far this one def feels the most organic and I feel like im hitting a groove with it!

2. I think I could’ve done a lil more with the foreground? It feels a bit bare but maybe I also just need to get comfortable with empty space🫢not every inch of a piece has to be so stuffed !

3. I’m enjoying throwing in some liney elements! Did it a bit two days ago but this ones a lot more bold but I think it works! I’m happy I went for it🤓

Also! I meant to try heavy paint today but realized too late that you can’t import jpegs! Unless im just dumb then lmk but tmrw I’ll actually give it a try I just didn’t want this sketch going to waste !

Day 9😨okay ya’ll. I wasn’t expecting these to get so realistic? Like yes it looks graphic and drawn but also like I just drew on top of a photo? I’m confused. These quick render brushes literally work like. I had no idea. 😂😂😂😂ANYWAYS! Other thots…

1. THIS WAS COMFY! I could look at the reference and know how I would execute it digitally. That’s cool! Never had that before!

2. Feeling like….the photo references are maybe… too much. I want to find a way to stylize now that I’ve developed a foundational comfort so I think in future pieces I’ll have to drop the reference a lot sooner and rely on the ole brain 🧠

3. Don’t look at his left foot. Actually don’t look at either of them.

Day 8🏊‍♂️ referenced again from a photograph but this time I’m not sure who it was by😞 this was a fun one tho! Here are my percolating critiques…

1. Tried to experiment a bit more with line today! Finding myself inspired by work by Alberto Mielgo and I’m a fan of the effect it gives! Super cool technique !

2. I actually finished this one really quick😳which means the dailies are working! HOORAY

3. Water. Is tough ! Can’t say I nailed it but gives me something to work on in the future! Honestly just did not have the patience for it today lol🤓
