YUUURRRRRN
I know I already highlighted my time this spring with the Choreo Cookies Intensive, but vids are finally up and wanted to share what this amazing team worked on … thankfully no blood was shed, but definitely a good amount of sweat, close tears, intentional talks, drafts, and more all came to this moment to share our journeys with each other and our community.

To Aleya, Avery, & Kirby: I hope I didn’t ruin kiwis for y’all 😂🥝 All seriousness, such a blessing to have been able to share our joys, struggles, hopes, and humanities together; to look back on this video and see where we are in life now in & out of dance shows how much this experience really pushed us to new heights.

To Lucía, Ysabelle, & Josh: forever troopers and inspo to art that I cannot contain my gratitude any longer. The advice, the grace, the uplifting you provided still linger in my heart (unfortunately, I did not finish the Cheez-Its you gave me, Lucía, perdón 🥺🙏🏼)

SUMMER 2026: BTS Arirang Tour D1 w/ my Gworls 💜

Lots of ups and downs in this season of my life, lots of anxieties and blessings held close, lots of endings & beginnings & renewals … but what’s constant and will be constant is the community I continue to build to keep me sane/grounded/accountable, to keep giving me love, and to keep pouring love into; not everyone in my life is pictured/videoed, but just know that there’s so much love felt. 4 more months til the end of the year, so let’s make it count 😉

FREEDOM IN FEELING
Phenomenal time with @seleneirehi at this past @southsidebyill workshops! Not only really delving into movement that feels authentic to me, but also breaking down what freedom and truly feeling the music looks like both through movement and conversation. This was my first time taking Selene’s class, so to experience her as a teacher, a mover, and a human through our conversation about what sacrifice looks like within our artistry and our humanity was awe-inspiring. I sincerely hope this is not the last time we run into each other, bc this really added such levity to my life. Hope y’all enjoy this one as much as I did! 🤩🫶🏼 by @mattmark0321

ROUND 87.5: MORE TO BITE INTO 🍪
Been a good amount of time, so might as well finally post these amazing classes from the @choreocookies Cookies and Friends Workshops the day after the Show 🤩 The versatility was def pushed with doing all three classes, but it was so rewarding to be a part of the artistry mixtures of some fellow Attendees of the program with current Cookies plus some Alumni I love.
I’ve never experienced Bridget until this intensive, so pairing her with the amazing Warren was such a treat and fresh breath as a starter. I’ve known Ray since community college & he was sickening then, so to have him with Jeff who challenges me physically & intellectually at all times (the latter pertaining to trying to convince him that he does not indeed suck at dance but he pushes through with that narrative anyways 😒😘) was def a challenge but a fun one at that. And finally having Austin & Noelle together again & capping the day with joy & technique left me with exhaustion and fulfillment.
All in all, a great end to an amazing chapter of this year/life and still kinda riding the emotional high of the whole experience to this day, so wanted to commemorate it. Hope y’all enjoy this one!

SOOOOO ABOUT LAST MONTH
Long story short, two big things happened in my life: I commenced the stage with my fellow Masters for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a week later I performed with the best in the Cookies and Friends Showcase.
Now long story 😉: I’ve been a part of the Choreo Cookies Leadership Intensive for about 2 months leading up to the performance, and damn was it one of the most fulfilling times of my life. From learning new skills in rehearsals to late night weekday IG video calls to post-rehearsal In n Out/Dave’s/Canes, this community and this intensive really forced me to actually enjoy the humanity and the creativity of what we do, not just worry about what’s the next thing or when’s the next class. To my amazing mentor Lucía: muchas gracias para su luz, su paciencia, y su amor that you gave to me and to yourself this whole process; your constructive comments and natural outpouring of vulnerability gave me so much space to be myself and push. To my Attendees of Yuuurrrrr-n, thank you for your artistry and the space you gave for mine; I was def in my head a lot about how I was showing up, but y’all we did that damn thing. To my remaining Yurrrners Ysabelle and Josh, thanks for holding it down with us and being the leaders we can aspire to. To the CC directors Ysabelle & Ysa & Jared (as well as Aamyah & Jeff), thank you for taking a chance on me to not only grow but also be a part of a community of growth. And to my other participants and the overall experience, we did that damn thing, I’m so proud of us, and may the work we put in here follow us into whatever we do as leaders and humans of the future ✊🏼😤🍪
Now, wth MFT, I still technically have summer semester and some clinical hours left to do, but my brother, cousins, and therapist encourage me to think that there doesn’t have to be a timeline to celebrate myself … so I’m finally internalizing the (very) hard work I’ve done to get to this moment with amazing people alongside me. While not everyone is pictured here, each person in my cohort has a story and purpose that inspire me in pushing through with my own journey.

ROUND 85
Getting back into classes for winter break was really nice and refreshing, especially with seeing returners like Mia and Kaylar come through for the holiday season. As we get into the new year, I have ideas about what dance will look like but still figuring out how to execute; been reinspired with both choreo & freestyling this past month and I can’t wait to share the moves and energies I have in them. Hope y’all enjoy this one covering late November and December! 😁🫶🏼

DAMN, 2025 …
I wanna promise I’m not gonna be long-winded with this post, but I honestly can’t promise that 😅 FYI, I had a Chinese Zodiac phase in middle school, so the whole Year of the Snake being about shedding and transforming into the new Year of the Horse was real bc 2025 definitely had her ups and downs. I had confidence issues multiple times in my school/Practicum journey, broke up with my first ever boyfriend (and learning a lot about it even to this day), questioned my life + my concept of love + my relationship with dance many times, and quit my job after 3 1/2 years. On the other hand, I continued surrounding myself with great people, I did so many fun things like escape rooms + brunches + more friend dates, and I’ve felt so much more free to grow after all that’s said and done. I know social media is usually a place where people show highlights of life and I admit to only really posting dance most of the time since it’s one of the few things I feel confident about despite the flaws … but this time of year is a time for reflection, and I’d rather look at it fondly rather than stew in what happened/could’ve been. If you’ve been a part of my life this year and before, may our journeys be full of peace, strength, and inspiration heading into 2026 🥺🫶🏼

ROUND 84
Welp … there’s been some developments in my life that are too abundant/much to put all in one post, so I’ll just stick with this: I have a complicated relationship with effort or self-efficacy, basically my confidence in doing a lot of things in my life; I get in my head and worry and rely on others for feedback and whatnot. Dance has been one of the few things that I feel confident enough in to appreciate feedback but ultimately I know that I’ve worked hard and loved this thing enough to be where I am with the art. Now, with said developments, I can expand myself a bit in ways that I’ve never thought I could go and that’s equal parts exciting and nerve-racking. I’ll still have school and Practicum to keep me busy, but now is the time to work on things outside of dance that feed me just as much. All that to say, these classes stem from October and the first half of November; exploring different/new people to me while being in safe spaces (and hopefully helping making that space safe for the people around me) has been kinda far & few between but fun regardless. Hopefully y’all enjoy this round!
