Practice. Games. Travel. Repeat. 🔁

In-season life doesn’t leave much room for the weight room and that’s exactly where most athletes start to slip. Strength fades, recovery suffers, and by playoffs you’re running on fumes.

That’s why we built VFit Online Elite strength & conditioning programming you can take with you to the team hotel, the home gym, the empty hallway before practice. Wherever you are, we’ve got you.

✅ Year-round programming
✅ Gym + no-equipment options
✅ Video demos + coaching feedback
✅ Nutrition + weekly coach check-ins
No excuses. Just results.

Your body doesn’t care whether 100 lbs comes from a machine, a dumbbell, or the grocery bags you’re hauling inside, because it only understands stress and adapts to whatever you consistently give it.

You don’t need a gym full of gadgets to get stronger, you need a structured plan, and we build those for the VFitFam in person here in Lexington and anywhere you travel through our online coaching app.

Most people who need a deload don’t take one because it feels like going backward. It isn’t. If you’ve been pushing heavy for weeks, the fatigue is stacking up whether you feel it or not, and at some point you either choose to back off or your body chooses for you.

A deload doesn’t have to mean stopping. It can be lighter loads, fewer sets, three days instead of five, or swapping the barbell for a kettlebell for a week. For some people it’s a full week off, and that’s fine too. The right version depends on how hard you’ve been going and what the rest of your life is asking of you right now. Work stress, a new baby, poor sleep, all of that counts against the same recovery budget your training does.

In our online programming, you don’t have to guess when to do it. Every time you finish a block and move into a new program, the first week naturally slows you down. New movements, lighter weights, learning the pattern before you load it. That’s a deload built right into the transition, so you come back fresher instead of just grinding through.

The 5am question I get most is “what should I eat before I lift.” Wrong question. The right one is how much time you’ve actually got between your feet hitting the floor and your first warmup set.

Thirty minutes is a completely different situation than ninety. Someone who’s up at 4:45 for a 5:15 session doesn’t need a meal, they need something small they can actually digest. Someone who’s up at 3:45 for shift work has the runway to eat like a normal human. Same lifter, same goal, two totally different answers, and most people pick wrong because they’re copying whatever their favorite lifter eats instead of working backward from the clock.

The other half of this is what you’re doing wrong before you ever get to the food. No water since 9pm, then straight to coffee. Big fat and fiber load because it “felt healthy.” Brand new food on a heavy day. Those wreck more early sessions than the wrong macro split ever will.

Swipe through, find your window, and just run that. Save it so you’ve got it in the kitchen tomorrow at 4:50. by @mattv31

Here is the truth: age matters a lot less than proficiency. I do not care if you are 4 or 40. If you cannot squat correctly, we should not be loading it heavy.

Light loads can teach the movement. Different loads or different placements can help correct a fault. But the weight comes after the mechanics, not before.

We call it training age. I have 15 year olds who are amazing lifters and 50 year olds who have no idea how to do a push up.

Before we add weight, complexity, or intensity, we want to see mastery of the movement, control of your body in space, and a plan that is safe and effective for you.

Experience over age. Every time.

SAVE THIS ONE 💪🏼 This is one of my favorite upper body workouts from Better Balance Strength!

What I love about this workout is that your core is working basically the ENTIRE time. You’re training your arms and shoulders, but so many of these movements force your core to stabilize your body at the same time. And I can tell such a difference in my core strength since training this way.

PHASE 3 UPPER BODY WORKOUT 👇🏼

Warm Up
A1: ½ Kneeling Overhead Press — 3 x 6–8
A2: Renegade Row — 3 x 8 each side

Superset:
B1: Bear Tricep Extension — 3 x 12–15 each side
B2: Split Stance Bicep Curl — 3 x 12
B3: TRX Pike — 3 x 10 (you can use a stability ball instead!)

Superset:
C1: Lateral Crab Walk + Toe Tap — 3 x 5 steps each direction with 5 toe taps at the beginning and end
C2: Lateral Crawl — 3 x 15 yards each direction
C3: Starfish Plank — 3 x 20 reps each side

This is just a little preview of Better Balance Strength — the 12-week strength program my personal trainer @mattv31 and I created together.

It’s 3 progressive phases over 12 weeks, so instead of doing random workouts and hoping they work, you have an actual plan that builds on itself and gets you stronger week after week through progressive overload.

I’ve been doing these workouts for the last few months and I’ve seen SO much muscle growth, leaned out, and gotten noticeably stronger — especially through my core.

And this is exactly why I wanted to create this program. I wanted you to basically have a personal trainer in your pocket for 12 weeks without paying personal-training prices. The entire 12-week program is $99. 🤍

And I’m starting the entire program back at Phase 1 this Monday (9/14) so we can do it together!!

Most of the people I work with don’t get stuck because they aren’t training hard enough. They get stuck because they never let the work catch up to them. Your body doesn’t get stronger in the session, it gets stronger in the hours after it, and if you never give it those hours you’re just accumulating fatigue and calling it progress.

Here’s what a real rest day looks like in my programming. You still move, just without the intensity. A walk, some easy mobility, a stretch flow. You still eat like you trained, because recovery costs energy too and under eating on off days is one of the fastest ways to feel flat when you get back under the bar. You still sleep like it matters, because it does.

What you don’t do is turn your rest day into a “light” workout that’s secretly just another workout. If you’re planning your off day around how you can still get after it, you don’t have an off day, you have a slightly quieter training day.

Build them in on purpose. That’s the whole point. by @mattv31

75 Hard will get you moving. But will it still be working for you on day 76?

Starting is great. Momentum is great. But no program worth doing should only last 75 days. A strong, successful life comes from habits that last forever, not white knuckling it, not beating yourself up over one missed day, and definitely not walking barefoot in the ice to get your outdoor work in.

What actually works:

✅ Start small
✅ Set reasonable goals
✅ Get a coach or an accountability partner
✅ Check in, then set new goals as you hit the old ones

If you need help, VFit would love to be part of your journey. Send us a message and let’s build a path to results that stick. 💪 by @mattv31
