More from The Queer Parts - Mexico City [2024].
Go to mattylbarnes.com for the full set. - While my time experiencing and celebrating Pride in CDMX was cut short due to illness last year, I got to experience a bit of the incredibly vibrant queer scene had to offer. Folks were SO kind, and the joy was palpable. The city’s 46th Pride March was full of beautiful and clever messages from “Abrazos de Mamá” (Mom Hugs) to “Marica El Que lo Lea” (If you’re reading this, you’re gay) to “Existimos Porque Resisitimos” (We exist because we resist) there was minimal commercialization of the day and it felt like a pure celebration of queerness. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and neighbors just South of our border. taken in Mexico City, Mexico by @mattylynnbarnes

Big thanks to @chops18 & @concord_originals for their Sounds & Scene initiative that lead to some gorgeous short films this year, that played alongside own own @bettystclair. ✨

Special shoutout to the amazing @mettieostrowski for being a badass who ran around all weekend capturing beautiful red carpet + party pics and turning them around on a dime. Truly in awe of your skills 🙌 taken in New York, N.Y. by @mattylynnbarnes
