Hatsumode

Throngs of people gather in Asakusa to pass through Kaminarimon, the gate that leads to Sensō-ji temple - Tokyo’s largest - for hatsumode, literally “the first shrine visit of the year.”

Thankful to be back to experience Japan again at last.

Yakushima Island. One of my favorite places in Japan… Surreal and dream-like, even in my memories.

Home away from home. ⁣

A beautifully designed, cozy house with one of the country’s best ski mountains quite literally in the backyard... Nicely done @alexstrohl & @andreadabene. I’m so happy you’ve found such a wonderful place to settle down after years on the road as modern nomads. Thank you for your hospitality - I’m already looking forward to my next visit!⁣
