For 2023, the MICHELIN Guide has returned to shine a spotlight on high quality Vancouver restaurants that collectively offer something for everyone, from near and far. The ceremony announcing the award of MICHELIN stars and other selections was held in downtown @destination_vancouver last night and the @CANADA team was invited to take it all in. Hatsumode

At the start of the year, many people hold close to the tradition of visiting relatives but to Japanese People visiting Hatsumode is a must. Hatsumode, a Japanese tradition where people visit shrines and temples at the start of the year. It was in Hatsumode where people expressed gratitude for last year and seek blessings for the next year ahead. There are no strict rules in visiting Hatsumode but Japanese people usually visit hatsumode at the moment the new year begins or in the early morning. In addition to making requests, Japanese people enjoy other activities such as drawing fortunes, which can influence one's perspective.

Two of Canada’s great destinations have landed on @TIME’s World’s Greatest Places list for 2023. Vancouver, British Columbia and Churchill, Manitoba made the coveted list of 50 extraordinary destinations around the world.
