Yup, that’s Me. And to every young girl of color out there, this is You too.

Thank you @cancerwellmag for the opportunity to use my voice and God giving talent to change the narrative.

I used to ask sometimes, “Abba, why did You make life so hard for me?”

Why did I have to learn so much the hard way?
Why did I have to fight for things that seemed to come so easily for everybody else?

But now I can look back and understand.

I became everything I needed to be so I could become everything He needed me to be.

Every “no.”
Every closed door.
Every mistake.
Every lesson.
Every time I had to figure it out without a blueprint.

None of it was wasted.

Because now I get to sit across from young women who are just beginning their journey in this industry and tell them what I wish somebody had told me when I was starting mine.

Not just how to do brows.
Not just how to build a business.
But how to build yourself while you’re building it.

How to know who you are before the industry tells you who you should be.

How to keep going when the doors don’t open.

How to understand that your gift may get you in the room, but who you become along the way is what will sustain you when you get there.

Maybe that’s what all those years were preparing me for.

I thought I was building a career.

God was building a woman who could reach back. I love you @mbluxurygroup @diamondbeautycosmetic_boutique and I’m so grateful for what we’ve been entrusted to do. @stridesforpeace @mavenesthetics
