Full Circle is now Emmy-nominated for outstanding long documentary in The 45th Sports Emmy Awards. (Music Editor - Max DeVincenzo, Fox Tracks Music)

We’re honored to be involved in this deserving documentary about adaptive sports athletes and the path of growth after trauma. It’s a truly beautiful film. (Streaming on @netflix )

Mark Crawford composed an incredible score (which is also up for consideration for an SCL Award! @_the_scl ) through collaborations with musicians with disabilities around the country. Fox Tracks’ involvement was Music Editor - compiling the recordings from the different sessions, editing, and pre-mixing, along with recording additional drum tracks for the film.

Thank you @markcrawfordmusic and everyone on the team. So glad to be a part of this.

So the story goes that when I was born my parents just couldn’t decide what to call me - (I was almost “Boy” DeVincenzo)

Luckily someone was prepared and the nurse on site suggested “Ian-Maxwell” as my name.

My dad said no - they’ll make fun of him.... they’ll call him IMAX.

Well, now a film I worked on, as Music Editor and Additional Music Composer (“High Gravity” - Max DeVincenzo), is being shown in IMAX theaters only this month.

It will be the first time I see my name on an IMAX screen...
So maybe the nickname would have been okay after all.

Girl Climber is showing nationwide (including Nashville and Denver) with additional music written by Boy DeVincenzo, in IMAX, on August 24th.

I’m so grateful to the team involved, especially Mark Crawford, the composer for the film, who brought me on board.

And I’m honored to be a part of sharing this incredible story about rock climber Emily Harrington and her perseverance against gravitational and societal forces as the first female climber to free-climb the Golden Gate route on El Capitan in under 24 hours.

Climbers, outdoor enthusiasts, humans with a strong spirit, You will love this movie. I hope you can make it.

Last day in Colorado… again.

This summer has been one of the most fulfilling and travelled periods of my life: moving out of my house in Nashville in April — several trips to Miami, producing a full length record, and completing projects of all kinds. Missing my stuff, missing my dog, living out of a suitcase. Traveling constantly between Chattanooga, Nashville, Colorado for concerts, performances, filming, housing, events, moving… It’s been a lot.

And it’s been a lot of good. The movement has given me the practice of creating stability in chaos. The time back home has given me an even deeper appreciation for this beautiful place I’ve grown up. I owe so much to Colorado - it given me so many opportunities and set me up with the experience I’m excited to implement in Tennessee

The other day I sat at the rocks up behind the lake at my parents’ house for what felt like the last time in Act One. It will always be one of the most important places of my life and I wish I had spent more time there.

I was thinking about how October 2024 was the beginning of this long journey and transition. Since then I’ve been successful, tossed around, loved, uplifted, challenged, broken, inspired and have grown so much. The first move to Nashville was without a doubt one of the most challenging periods of my life, but maybe I just wan’t able to see the why while I was living in it. It ended up being the right thing.

Nashville is such a rewarding place and I plan to be there often and continue growing and connecting there. Through the power outages, tornadoes, successes, breakups, a ton of recording, production, drumming, work, and an obscene amount of travel in order to make the transition from Colorado it was really really great.

Tate McRae - 2 Hands (MDVMX Remix)

There’s just something so satisfying about genre-flipping a song. This song (and album) is well produced but the writing is what allows it to be modified and manipulated into different musical contexts.

Definitely looking forward to doing more remixes. Any suggestions for the next song are more than welcome.

I recorded John Hollier (@johnholliermusic) during my road-trip through music cities in the US before I moved to Nashville. I remember setting up the mics for the recording and after hearing how much force he had in his voice moving the vocal mic back farther.. and a little farther.

Needless to say he blew me away with this song, his voice, and his professional musicality. I learned a lot about Nashville during our interview together and it became one of the reasons I moved to this bountiful city. Thank you John.

Still one of my favorite videos from last year at @evacasselmusic ‘s house show. There’s something so special about recording… especially at a live show with an audience. It reminds me that the energy of the moment is the most important thing in music - you either capture it or you don’t… and it will only happen once. 🦋

Musicians are some of the wisest, most intuitive people on the planet. Maybe it’s the years of self reflection or the constant practice of a direct connection to creativity… whatever it may be, I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to record and interview such inspiring artists. by @max.devincenzo
