Invitation design for the upcomming exhibition of works by Amelie Karweick and André Thomkins opening on Friday, 28 August, from 6-9 pm. @clementinseedorf

Amelie Karweick (b. 1993 in Dortmund, Germany) lives and works in Düsseldorf. She graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 2025 as a Meisterschülerin of Trisha Donnelly.
Her work has been featured in group presentations at Clementin Seedorf at Art Cologne 2025 and at the Kunstverein fur die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf, as part of ‚Jahresgaben‘, prior to her first solo exhibition at zaza‘, Naples in July 2026.
Karweick is a recipient of the dHCS-studio fellowship at the Mataré-Haus, Düsseldorf.
For this exhibition she presents a new body of sculptures and drawings made in 2025 and 2026.

André Thomkins (1930 - 1985) was a Swiss artist who lived and worked in the Rhineland for more than twenty years. He moved to Rheydt in 1952 and taught painting and graphic arts at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1971 to 1973. He participated in documenta 5 (1972) and documenta 6 (1977), and had numerous solo exhibitions, including presentations at the Weserburg Museum für Moderne Kunst, Bremen (2019); Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Vaduz/Kunsthalle Düsseldorf (2013); Kunstmuseum Basel (2013, 1977); and Galerie Spoerri, Dusseldorf (1971).
Thomkins‘ multi-faceted œuvre was strongly influenced by Surrealism and the Dada movement, and his interest in parapsychology, utopian town planning, philosophy and literature. His work ranges from mostly small-scale pencil and ink drawings and watercolours to paintings, objects, and sculpture.

Insides into “Long Live Television” by @_louvdh

“Long Live Television“ brings together texts and images on television and its afterlives in streaming platforms, channel-based media, social media, artists‘ video, and other forms of contemporary moving-image culture. It asks how television continues to be declared dead as a broadcast system while its forms, logics, and temporalities persist across the screens of the present. Central themes include interruption, repetition, sequencing, program flow, and the experience of images encountered in fragments.

It approaches television as a structure, a memory, and an aesthetic method that continues to shape how moving images are perceived and organized.

The book marks the conclusion of the project “Die Zeit, die bleibt“ (The Time That Remains) by Lou von der Heyde @_louvdh , developed as part of the Curatorial and Research Residency Program (CRRP) at the @juliastoschekfoundation

Inside of the new publications TIME and LACK.
By @sannahelenaberger and @tausend_editionen

TIME consists of two texts—“and then” written for and read by Sanna Helena Berger in her eponymous performance at the Westfälischer Kunstverein in Münster in February 2026 and a text by Berlin based artist Stella Sieber, which originally appeared in “Postponed”, a reader initiated by Sanna Helena Berger and edited by Lian Rangkuty in June 2025.
Stella Sieber @wallcaall

LACK consists of two texts that accompanied the solo exhibition “und zwar” by Sanna Helena Berger at WRG Studios Braunschweig and HBK Braunschweig earlier this year, and was curated by Benno Hauswaldt. It consists of the eponymous text “und zwar” by Sanna Helena Berger and the exhibition text “Und Zwar, Sehr gerne!” by Vienna based writer and artist Christian Egger.

Folding poster for mumok cinema

Long Cold Shadow, curated by artist Martin Beck @martinb543

„You don’t have anything, you’re nothing. You’re not even a citizen of the United States.“

Bringing together „Medium Cool“ (1969), „Punishment Park“ (1971), „Black Panthers“ (1968), and „The Murder of Fred Hampton“ (1971), Long Cold Shadow explores a moment when cinema became inseparable from political struggle. Made at the end of the 1960s and the start of the 1970s, these films reflect a shared urgency: a need to document, question, and intervene.
