Incredible turnout - with around 400 people attending - at our campaign launch last night. The speakers were amazing - Vanushi Walters talked about the values at the heart of Labour’s foreign policy, high school student Olivia Mason stole everyone’s hearts, and Bianca Ranson spoke powerfully about our work and campaigning together. I spoke last, about the people we are fighting for, how we are better together (and how that is a core principle for Labour and for me), and what we need to do between now and 7 November. Some wonderful performances and kai in between. We were all encouraged to leave and get energised to win this election. This is Tāmaki together. by @maxfortamaki

This race is wide open, and it is clearer than ever that Tāmaki is looking for a fresh, renewed and committed voice. People are not only curious, but excited about our campaign.

St Heliers, Kohimarama, Ōrākei, St Johns, Meadowbank, Stonefields, Glendowie, Mission Bay. Last weekend we went all across this electorate, hosting street corner meetings in less than ideal weather. Everyone, from young people, to parents, to senior nurses, public servants and a retired accountant (just to name a few) came to these meetings to have robust conversations about the need for strong investment in our healthcare system, universalism, a positive vision for the economy, and how this current cost of living crisis feels like a cost of survival crisis for so many people in our community. Some people came to support, some came because they were skeptical and walked away nodding.

Every time we talk to people directly, in person, it is a chance to see that we are genuinely committed to listening and winning for people. Every time we host a street corner meeting, or a doorknock, or an event, it's an opportunity for us to hear the voices of this community and build a campaign that genuinely reflects the needs and aspirations of this electorate.

There's a lot more to come. We've been campaigning hard, but we've only just begun. Our team is growing, our campaign is growing. Corner by corner, door by door, conversation by conversation, we will change this government and win for Tāmaki. by @maxfortamaki

Excellent cottage meeting this morning - with just some of the people attending in this photo. Questions about education, the economy (and taking a long-term view of investment), Auckland and Wellington, drugs, and areas of possible common ground across the parties. We’re doing a bunch more of these meetings in the coming weeks. A great way to have a longer, deeper conversation. It’s such a privilege to wake up every morning and to be able to do something meaningful to make this a one-term government. by @maxfortamaki

We’ve got three more Saturdays of door knocking left - the 17th, 24th, and 31st of October. We’d love to see you there, whether you’re an experienced campaigner or showing up for the first time.

This is a tight race, but our people power and effort on the doors makes all the difference. Let’s take it to the Max! Register for any of our door knocks at the link in bio. ❤️ by @maxfortamaki

It was awesome to have Chris Hipkins in Glen Innes to hear directly from voters in Tāmaki. Healthcare and the cost of living were raised as particularly important issues. Now we need a change of government to address these. Take it to the Max. Better starts now. by @maxfortamaki

What a day. Some days stretch you in the best ways. Morning door knock in Meadowbank, @95bfm debate in middle of the day, then a talk at Grace Joel retirement village in St Heliers, followed by a meeting on Roger Lacey’s front lawn with neighbours and community. In between: team meetings, tidying up some law work, and a bit of time on the CRL and the 75. Let’s go again tomorrow. by @maxfortamaki

It was great to be part of the @95bfm Tāmaki debate this morning. It’s important we stop the Coalition Government’s cruelty and make this a one-term government. We can do that by enrolling to vote before October 25th and showing up to vote before November 7th. Let’s take it to the Max. by @maxfortamaki

Our public health system is under attack by this government’s hiring freeze. Labour’s job guarantee for graduate nurses will ensure our hospitals are well staffed. We need change, we cannot carry on like this. by @maxfortamaki

It’s been brilliant attending different Myanmar community celebrations over recent months, including in Ōrākei, and to meet many members of the NZ Myanmar community who are based in Glen Innes. Here are a few glimpses of those events and community moments. Take it to the Max and vote Labour. by @maxfortamaki
