The ACT Party is pushing for more than half a billion dollars in disability cuts if elected. This is after 2.5 years of this govt’s systematic attacks on disabled people, their whānau & carers who have already endured the harm, anxiety and trauma caused by this Government’s cuts to disability support. We (Max & Priyanca) have both seen the real-world impact of these cuts over the past two and a half years. As Labour’s Disability Issues spokesperson, Priyanca has heard firsthand from disabled people and whānau who have been left frightened, exhausted and struggling to access the support they need. She has also challenged the govt’s decisions that make Aotearoa less accessible & less inclusive. Both Priyanca & Max have been strong advocates for disability rights.
Max has fought for disabled people harmed by this Government’s cuts, representing New Zealanders denied the basic support they need to live with dignity, from home modifications and interpreting services to vital therapies for autistic children.
The govt’s political choices are cruel. They have deepened hardship, fuelled the cost of living crisis for disabled people and their families, and made it even harder to get the support people need to live with dignity. Now govt parties want to make it worse.
The only way ACT gets back into Government is with National. And we know Christopher Luxon has shown he’s willing to support cuts, no matter the human cost.
But we can stop this.
Together, we can bring an end to this heartless Government and build a country that values, respects and supports disabled people.
Party Vote Labour. Vote Priyanca in Maungakiekie. Vote Max in Tāmaki.

It’s been a lovely couple weeks of full on campaign mode. We spoke at Tāmaki College (National candidate on the picture behind me didn’t bother to attend 😭😕) about the many pressures on students and whānau right now. We also spoke at Faith Family Community Center about the need to provide adequate housing and affordable kai - and the many benefits this has for our health system. We’ve been door knocking and dropping flyers to remind everyone that THIS SUNDAY is the last day you can enrol to vote. So if you want cheaper power bills, affordable groceries, reliable transport, and to invest in our hospitals and nature, enrolling and voting is the only way to make it happen. 🥬🫛💚 And if you’re the type who’s curious about politics, or likes to chat about the issues, it’s time to turn that into action - come to one of our final few calling events over the next week or so. Link to the list of events you can RSVP to is in my bio! 😌

On November 7, you have the power to change this government.

But there’s a catch: under National’s changes to voting rights, you need to be enrolled by October 25 to make your voice heard.

They know the power of young people. They know we expect better. And we have a choice: a future where every young person gets a FAIR GO.

A government that backs young people. A future full of opportunity in New Zealand. A fairer deal for everyone.

Two ticks for Labour on November 7.

Better Starts Now!
