Owning this thing has been nothing short of amazing and it’s given me some experiences I’ll never forget. I’ve learnt lots, both about the mechanicals of this car and what it takes to look after one by yourself, and the fact I definitely have very little in common with other Lamborghini or ‘super car’ owners. There’s too much dirt under my fingernails and I have zero interest in expensive watches, appearing ‘affluent’ or selling dodgy schemes/products 😆.
Still though, the car is awesome and you should never let a car’s reputation or appearance stop you from fulfilling something truly meaningful. I was 10 years old when this car was new, and that means it was ‘my era’ of exciting car. 10 year old me would have died knowing one day I’d have one.

There’s always a ‘right time’ to move on though, and it feels like now is the time. What’s next? Probably something unreliable, smelly and more in keeping with my style 😂.

Lovely ‘64 sunroof to keep me busy.
Nice solid car. Older resto, but still feels authentic. Needs a heater channel and rear bumper mounts. Easy work!

NOW SOLD. my 1979 924.
Yeah yeah, I know! I’ve decided I’ve done my bit with it now and would like to move it on. I haven’t the ability to just sit on cars indefinitely, so onwards we move.
The 924. Great spec, full pasha interior, guards red, slick top. Huge amount of recent work taken out. Sachs Clutch, lowering/adjustable suspension, rear gearbox + beam mounts, practically all new brakes, Enkei wheels + NS2R’s… the list goes on and on.
Mechanically great, it’s an enjoyable and fun car. I’ve just swapped the gearbox out for a low miles one today in preparation for sale, as the old one was noisy.
Bodywork is shit. It really is. Years of neglect and abuse (not by me) has ruined it. But it is shiny and still fairly presentable. It’s patina, innit. Cooler than mint paint.
