2026… it was a challenge and a joy to revisit our very British production from years past, The Merry Wives Of Windsor. Originally produced at the RSC in 2012, now re-designed and re-mounted afresh for a brand new 2026 production by the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre earlier this year, with a fantastic American acting ensemble. The world has changed much during that time; and yet this staging with its wry humour, casual violence, deception, social class observation and nods to creeping nationalism and xenophobia still resonates 15 years later. The in-house teams at Chicago Shakes excelled in delivering what was one of their biggest projects to date… much respect and gratitude to them all. Chicago is very cool. Met some lovely people. Saw some Jazz. Watched a game. so, last year I completed my first London 2 Brighton cycle ride and this year I’m raising the bar a little… about 6 times further, starting TODAY. I’m going to be taking on the Cycle 300 Miles Challenge this July to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. That’s a minimum of 300 miles via Road Bike and/or Spin Bike during the month of July. In Summer 2025, after nearly a decade of collaborating on projects in Tokyo, our Japanese production of Anna Karenina was re-designed, re-mounted, and performed at the Chichester Festival Theatre with a fantastic UK cast lead by Natalie Dormer in the titular role. An epic show, with too many to celebrate here… but big shout out to Ruth Hall; celebrated Associate Designer, Assistant Designer and long suffering studio partner who was also our brilliant Costume Designer… :) _____

Our production of The Spy Who Came In From The Cold transferred to the West End at the end of 2025. Originally performed in a ‘thrust’ configuration at Chichester’s Minerva Theatre, this second iteration was redesigned for the more intimate ‘in the round’ configuration at Soho Place. Red or Dead (2025) …David Peace’s surging account of Liverpool FC legend Bill Shankly, played by the formidable Peter Mullan alongside a professional cast and community company of 50 was really something special. Too many collaborators to celebrate, but a big shout out to Costume Supervisors Mitch Fujii and Eden Easterbrook who with their small but mighty team performed a miracle by delivering around 150+ period accurate character costumes, across four story decades. Also to longtime partner in crime Phillip Breen, die hard Liverpool FC fan and Liverpudlian, whose tenacity over many years finally got his extraordinary stage adaptation and passion project across the line. I’m neither a Liverpudlian, nor a die hard football fan, but YNWA being sung out in full voice by our community company and the entire Liverpool Royal Court audience at curtain call of the first preview was an experience that will stay with me forever.
