Introducing Ferry House – a modern design with glazing by Maxlight (@maxlightltd)

This home integrates with its surroundings, with the main living wing offering views of the river, flood plains, and the cathedral beyond. Framed views to the north show off the woodland, while the kitchen garden to the NE adds charm to the space. Large windows on both sides of the living area flood the space with light, enhancing views and allowing for effective cross ventilation. The dual-aspect master bedroom at the opposite wing enjoys views over the riverbend towards Longford Castle and across the flood plains to Salisbury Cathedral.

Maxlight is proud to have contributed to this project as the glazing supplier and thrilled to see Ferry House recognised with a RIBA South West & Wessex Award. 🌿✨

An award-winning garden we have already had the pleasure of stepping inside.

The Putney Heath Garden Project by @lucywillcox has won Best Residential Garden Design at the @britishhomesawards

What makes this one particularly special is that it is Lucy Willcox’s own home, a project where the relationship between house and garden has been considered from both sides of the glass. The planting, architecture and expansive glazing work together so the garden becomes part of the experience.

Earlier this year, Lucy welcomed us inside for an episode of House Tours at @our60srevamp, giving us the opportunity to hear the story behind the home.

Congratulations to Lucy and everyone involved in a brilliant project.

Winterbrook, Dulwich. The dining space sits beneath a single piece of roof glazing, with the plasterboard lining taken right up to it in a soft curve. A projecting structural glass window below forms the window seat overlooking the garden. Bespoke drawers provide extra storage under the seat.

Green Lodge by @stylusarchitects x @caelix.works has been named New House of the Year (Up to 2,500 sq ft) at the @britishhomesawards

The X-Max Pivot Doors are one of our features within the project, using steel framing to give the entrance a stronger architectural presence and a more defined, graphic finish.

A great project to have been part of, and a brilliant result for the team behind it.

Mount Park House uses high ceilings of 3.4m in the main reception room which naturally lowers as you move into the kitchen. Though the space remains open plan with informal seating, kitchen and dining area, the zones are strategically differentiated though the use of ceiling heights and bespoke ribbed concrete panels – crafted in Somerset.

Skylights and large windows bring in soft lighting, maximising light to diffuse into the space, opening up the interior.

The fluidity of the spaces allow a focus on celebrating social gatherings and comfort for everyday family lifestyle.

A home designed as four different buildings.

In Episode 4 of House Tours by Maxlight, we step inside Housestead, a family home by Abigail Hopkins and Amir Sanei of Sanei + Hopkins Architects.

Inspired by the traditional English farmstead, the house brings together four distinct spaces for living, sleeping, working and utility, each with its own architectural identity. It is a different approach to family life, where the spaces between buildings become just as important as the rooms themselves.

At the heart of the home, a remarkable thatched roof sits above a fully glazed living space, bringing traditional craftsmanship and contemporary architecture together. Our glazing allows the landscape to remain part of the experience, with expansive views across the Suffolk countryside and River Alde.

A home that challenges convention while finding its roots in the landscape and traditions around it.

The perfect Sunday morning coffee spot ☕️

The oriel window at Holme Chase provided much needed space without extension utilising an existing window opening. The bit of the renovation people go to first.
