FOUR OUT OF FOUR! 🌿
And here is our fourth garden to reach the finals of the APL Awards 2027!
This charming courtyard is full of character, with beautiful brickwork, bespoke built-in seating, carefully positioned trees and lots of lovely planting. I particularly love the combination of materials and how we’ve created different little places to sit and enjoy the garden.
Designed by me and brought to life by the fantastic team at The Garden Builders.
Having four gardens reach the finals is such a wonderful achievement, and I couldn’t be more delighted! Thank you to everyone who was involved. 💚

Congratulations to the team at @auraarchitecture on winning Best Architecture Single Residence in London, for their Norman Park project in Bromley at the @internationalpropertyawards.

A project that we featured at the end of last year, and was great to showcase alongside @benrichards_property.

All content produced by @homeinspireuk

This 50-year-old family home hadn’t been updated for decades, and the team at AURA led a full transformation to reimagine it for modern family living. The renovation included a full-width rear extension, a completely open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space, reconfigured bedrooms upstairs, and a new loft suite with dressing room, bathroom, and terrace. Practical additions like a home office, playroom, utility, boot room, and compact gym were also integrated, creating a home that’s both functional and light-filled throughout.

Fantastic progress on one of our projects in Mawgan Porth this week. @warvena_construction are applying their usual skill and attention to detail on this one, with some beautifully applied @rothoblaas.uk air tight taping. Beautiful stonework inside and out, and it was a privilege to see @maxlightltd finishing their work on the oriel window - it looked like a showroom for all the @makitauk teal gear being used!

It’s been a pleasure working with @studio10_architects on this special, special house.

Completing the Silhouette - Before and After

The extension does not compete with the original house. It completes it.

The two-storey addition resolves the rear roof form, while the new kitchen, dining and living space is deliberately separated from the main volume with glass. What was once a fragmented rear elevation becomes a clearer composition of solid, void and edge, with the new architecture sitting lightly against the completed silhouette.

School House

Our project in South Oxfordshire is now watertight with these beautiful sliding doors and fixed windows by Maxlight. Over the next few weeks we’ll see the polished concrete floor poured, timber cladding installed and the interior taking shape. All finished by Christmas.

PROJECT UPDATE - MUIRFIELD DORMY HOUSE ⛳️

Great progress continues at our Muirfield Dormy House project, with the transformation really starting to take shape.

The building is now fully wind and watertight, with all new glazing installed, marking another significant milestone in the programme @nordan_uk & @maxlightltd

Attention is now turning to the interior, with the first finishes beginning to go in and the quality of the spaces starting to come together.

A standout feature of this project will undoubtedly be the stunning new zinc roof by @paneltechcladding which will provide an exceptional architectural finish to the building.

We’re looking forward to seeing the next stages unfold as we bring this prestigious project closer to completion.

More updates to follow!

Woodlands Edge, Guildford, Surrey.
The architecture, unpacked.

The main body of the house is retained, while the rear is reshaped through a new roof form, additional living space and a layered connection to the garden.

A glazed junction draws daylight between old and new. The projecting frame gives the extension its edge, adding depth to the elevation and framing views out.

The decisions behind the finished house, revealed one layer at a time.
