I’m so pleased to share the latest film I co-directed for @gorillaz at @thelineanimation. Thank you @hewll for once again putting your trust in us, I feel incredibly privileged to have worked with you on this one. @tim_mccourt I couldn’t have done it without you, I’ve loved every minute of co directing this with you, let’s do it again soon. @evaviolamaria and @mim_chi_ella it’s been such a pleasure to work with you so closely and bare witness to your production prowess, you are both incredible!

Making this film was an homage to the craft of animation from the 60s and was only made possible by the incredible team we were privileged to work with. It was awe inspiring to see the work that was produced everyday and really heartwarming that each and every team member was so talented, lovely, kind and human.

Watching this incredible woman give birth for the second time in a pandemic was the most humbling and awe inspiring thing I’ve ever witnessed. I couldn’t be more proud and grateful to her. 🖤🤍 @cookeleanor_ by @maxtaylordesign

Here’s a little BTS of the Doritos test shoot with my new hero, DoP @carloscatalan_ explaining how to pull off a contra zoom directly into a mouth. It was such a pleasure working with this guy! I’m really pleased to have been part of the super talented team responsible for the new Gorillaz video. I had the absolute pleasure of co-directing with @tim_mccourt and of course the genius that is Jamie Hewlett @hewll Oh, and it stars @JackBlack. @thelineanimation teamed up with @blink_ink and @ruffian.co to produce the video, collaborating with the marvellous Evan Silver @theesps, who directed the live action shoot. Massive shout out to our producer @franzinicolaus who absolutely nailed the production.
.
.
.
#gorillaz #2d #noodle #animation #russel #ace #animation #DamonAlbarn #jamiehewlett #hewlett #humility
#thenownow #phase5 #jackblack #LA # by @maxtaylordesign
