Hi friends! 📚✨

Welcome to *(De)Influence My TBR*, where I ask you to do the impossible: tell me which of these books is overhyped, underrated, or absolutely worth the TBR space. 😈

Because apparently, having a TBR that could last several lifetimes isn't enough. I still keep adding books to it, saving recommendations, and convincing myself that this is the book I'll read next... And then my chaotic mood-reader brain does its thing, and I end up reading something completely different. 🤡📚

So let's try something new! Something I saw over the years and found pretty interesting!

👇 Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

✨ Tell me which book I absolutely need to read.
👀 Tell me which one didn't live up to the hype.
💸 And, most importantly, try to convince me NOT to buy or read another book. (Good luck with that.)

💬 Tell me now, if you can pick ONE book, any book from the graphic, whether you've read it or it's been sitting on your own TBR for years, which one would it be?

Bonus question: Which cover would tempt you to pick up a book without knowing anything about it?

Let's see if you can influence or de-influence me for November 😂💕

The books featured are Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson, The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri, A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal, A Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett, The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst, The Host by Stephenie Meyer, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Carrie by Stephen King, The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi, Neuromancer by William Gibson, Petit by Hubert and Bertrand Gatinol, The Boy Who Granted Dreams by Luca Di Fulvio, The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, and Faebound by Saara El-Arifi. by @maxxiereads

Hi Friends! 📚💜

I saw next week that the Week-end à 1000 but a friend was coming to town so I thought I couldn’t do it. 🙊

Little did I knew that I would have the worst flare-up I had in a while and that I would need to cancel every plans I made on Saturday! I still had a lot of Library books to read so I put some reading sprints on and read!

I’m glad I did take care of myself and allow me to stay home. It’s still something I’m working on. And finally, I had the opportunity to take part in the challenge! 📚

💬 Did you know this challenge? Have you already done something similar? Tell me everything!

#bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #weekendà1000 #readingchallenge @challenge_weekend_a_1000pages Bookstagram graphic titled “1000 Pages Challenge”, it has a vintage-inspired scrapbook background decorated with handwritten pages, torn paper, and collage elements. Below the title, a text explaining the challenge: “Le Week-End à 1000 is a French 1000 pages challenge hosted by @challenge_weendend_a_1000pages” Under it, centred and in dark green colour font : “The goal is to reach 1000 pages read during the weekend.” The previous text then continues: “This time, it was between Friday, 9th - 7pm and Sunday, 11th - midnight. Having an absolutely awful flare-up on Saturday, I decided to stay at home to read and rest, and realised that, maybe, I could try this challenge!” Beneath, in big dark green dark, centred is written: “One question: Did I manage to read 1000 pages in 3 days ?” a dark orange arrow invite us to turn the page. by @maxxiereads

Hi friends, 🤍📚

I'm lucky enough to live in France, where books are not banned, but this is still important. Right now, students are protesting and rioting for their education and to improve the state of their schools, either if they have rats or need to change classes with their tables and chairs...

Education is something every kid should be allowed to have. Banning books, repressive punishment, wars, genocides, are the complete opposite of what our youth should live through.

I'm standing for the kids, their education and hope for a better world, for them all. You can call me a fool, it's the exact reason I was a teacher once. I believe a better world is possible, one day.

#bannedbooks #bannedbooksweek #readingbannedbooks #Booksbooksbooks #Bookstagram Bookstagram graphic titled “Banned & Challenged Books” featuring twelve book covers arranged in three rows on a beige, vintage-inspired scrapbook background decorated with handwritten pages, torn paper, and collage elements. The graphic explains the rules: “Banned Books I read, you know the drill: 10 points if you read it – 5 points if the book is on your TBR.” The featured books are: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, 1984 by George Orwell, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, Animal Farm by George Orwell, The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, The Running Man by Stephen King, and The Great Gatsby by F. Hi Friends! 🍂✨

Me: “I'll finish my Orilium reads this semester.”
Also me: buys Scrolls of Extension. 😂

It's time for another Orilium update! 🍂✨

The Autumn Equinox semester is officially over, and apparently I looked at my reading list and thought, yes, I can definitely finish all of that.
Spoiler: I could not. 😂

And because I clearly have an excellent understanding of my own reading habits (🤡), I had to buy a few Scrolls of Extension to give myself an extra month to finish everything. Especially because it’s my character’s last semester before Higher Callings!

My month was really busy and actually, I was pretty happy to see that I was able to tackle most of my mandatory reads!

Also, can we appreciate Logan's drawings?? The Munchalotl and every creature and myths revelations this month!!

Did you take part in the Orilium Autumn Equinox?
And if you could take ONE magical class from Orilium in real life, which one would you choose? 👀 I think I would choose Shapeshifting!

(I haven't shared my reading journal in a while so I added my Orilium pages in the next few slides, sorry for my hand)

#orilium #magicalreadathon #booksbooksbooks #readingjournal #bookstasgram A scrapbook-style Bookstagram graphic titled “Orilium Autumn Equinox” in large dark brown lettering on torn lined paper. The page has a warm beige and cream autumnal background with vintage astronomical illustrations, botanical details, and torn-paper textures.
The first page shows three Orilium classes:
Under “Animal Studies” are: Godkiller by Hannah Kaner, Nobles Paysans volume 1 by Hiromu Arakawa, and Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn, with progress bars underneath each book. I finished the first two but had to buy a scroll of extension for the later.
To the right is a black and gold emblem reading “Wild Form Druid — Master.”
Below, “Art of Illusion” features: Lore Olympus volume 8, by Rachel Smythe, and Entered in the Alien Bride Lottery by Margo Bond Collins, each with a complete progress bar. “Astronomy” features Matched by Ally Condie with a partially filled progress bar.
At the bottom, a note says: “I bought a few Scrolls of Extension to have an extra month to finish my reads.” next to a small illustrated scroll. by @maxxiereads

Hi Friends! ✨🍂

It’s time for my monthly wrap-up! Last month, I read for the Orilium challenge/ Magical readathon and it made me read stuff I didn’t expect at first 😂 As you can see, the books on my wrap-up are not especially those on my Hopefuls List (oops)

But, what can I say, I’m a mood reader!

At the end of the month I also went to find a book cover I didn’t like on my included audiobooks on Audible, looking for something short and I read an Alien romance, which is not really my kind of books. I think it’s my second one, and that was something 😅

💬 Tell me, what was your favourite read in September? Did you get to everything you were planning on reading?

Hi Friends! 📚🍂

I’m so glad I survived Summer and made it to my favourite season ever! 💜

I love Autumn / Fall, the colours, the cosiness, the vibes, Halloween! 🦇 Literally my favourite time of the year.

So let me introduce you to the Autumn colour palette. These photos were taken in September during my vacations in the Netherlands, when I was enjoying gloomy and fresher days!

As always, I need my reading moods to match the autumn vibes.

I hope for:
📚 no more reading slumps
📚 halloween vibes
📚 catching up on my challenges
📚 and, of course, 5 stars reads!

💬 Now tell me, is there a book you kept for Fall? A favourite autumnal reading challenge?

#Bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #autumn #fallcolors A scrapbook-style autumn collage with a warm beige background and dark red rounded borders around five photographs. The largest photo shows a canal lined with tall, narrow historic buildings under a cloudy grey sky taken in the Netherlands. Other photos show purple flowers in sunlight, a seagull flying over a sandy beach in Den Haage, a frame with a still life’s Lego, and a statue silhouetted against a bright blue sky with clouds. In the center, large dark brown text reads “Welcome Autumn!” Below it are four colour swatches in dark brown, rust red, deep green, and burnt orange, creating an autumn-inspired palette. by @maxxiereads

Hi Friends ✨📚

I realized I didn’t do any Color Palette post since Pride and I thought I should get back to it, being a cute and fun little collage. 💙

I don’t know why but I associated September with dark blue, even if I saw brownish posts here and there…

I’m sorry, I’m pretty exhausted so I don’t have a lot to say today. 🫣

💬 Tell me, have you read any of these books? Did you enjoy them? Do you want to recommend a dark blue book to me?
And which color do you associate with September?

#Bookstagram #Booksbooksbooks #bookrecommendations Pastel blue Bookstagram graphic titled "Color Palette”. The color palette of the page uses soft blue, pink, lavender, cream, and peach tones, the collage has scrapbook decorations around the edges, illustration of a paint palette. The subtitle is written in purple: “Dark blue September vibes”. Below the subtitle, two sections displaying 5 books each:
- Some books that I read: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, and The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu.
- … And some I want to read: The Island of the Missing Trees by Elif Shafak, Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, Du Thé pour les Fantômes by Chris Vuklisevic and Doctor Who: I, TARDIS: Memoirs of an Impossible Blue Box by Steve Cole. by @maxxiereads

Hi Friends! 💜🫂

It has been a pretty long time since my last review post… I know the algorithm does not like that but I love to talk about books, and I want to share more reviews (I just need to catch up on my reading journal 😂)

Today, I wanted to talk about a pretty cute ARC (thank you @netgalley ans @AndrewMcMeels): Emotional Support Animals by Nicole Georges.
As someone who struggle with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, adhd, low self-esteem and depression, this workbook was a welcome addition to my life. I wanted to keep almost every page with me, I really enjoyed it!

I highly recommend it if you’re currently struggling with mental health issues, but it doesn’t replace medical assistance if it’s needed.

Take care of yourself friends!

💬 Tell me: Did you heard about this book? Would you like to give it a try?

#bookstagram #bookreview #booksbooksbooks The first slide is a pastel blue Bookstagram graphic titled "Review”. The color palette uses soft blue, pink, lavender, cream, and peach tones, the collage has scrapbook decorations around the edges, and animal prints. The subtitle is written in purple: “Emotional Support Animals” below the title, the book’s information: Nicole Georges - Non Fiction - 160 pages. Publication date: 14/04/2026. Reading dates: May 2026. Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC.”
Next to this bloc is the book cover is displayed and underneath, a rating of 4.75 stars.
Underneath, another subtitle “Synopsis”, followed by the synopsis: What if your therapist was a cardigan-wearing walrus sipping a cup of coffee? Emotional Support Animals answers this question in a series of sweet comics and engaging worksheets. Nicole Georges presents small doses of therapy in the form of humorous illustrations about serious subjects. Picture a pug assuring you that it's not cruel to say no or hold a boundary, or a crocodile reminding you that when you take care of yourself, you have more capacity to give. Inspired by Nicole’s experiences with grief and healing, her Anonymous Fuzzball comics touch on themes of self-worth, boundaries, and balance. Using quirky animals as her subjects, she proves that hard truths are easier to digest in an adorable package.” by @maxxiereads

Hi friends! 🪄📚

What a better date than the 21st of the month to post my month hopefuls? I don’t know either 🙈😂
Between my Orilium prompts and library haul, many books are more than tempting!

Hi Friends! 📚 🧙

Better late than never! September is one of my favourite reading months because the Orilium challenge is back, Bébé! ✨ 🎉

Short post today, but this month could be my character’s (Emrys) the last semester before graduating as a Wild Form Druid. And for that I need to read 12 books for that!

My TBR is humongous, 😶 I’ll probably have to buy a few scrolls and finish my reads in October, but I’ll try my best. I’ll post it pretty soon (I’m really late on my planning, but what can I say, ADHD’s talking). Once again, I’ll have a busy month (especially this week because I was in the Netherlands! Didn't read much but it was amazing 💜)

💬 Do you participate in the Orilium’s challenge? What’s your Calling? And your Guild? Tell me everything! ✨

#Bookstagram #Booksbooksbooks #readingchallenge #oriliumreadathon The first slide is a pastel blue scrapbooking style page, with torn papers. The color palette uses soft blue, pink, lavender, cream, and peach tones. The bookstagram graphic titled "Orilium Autumn Semester". Below is written “Created by Book Roast (Gi), designs by Logan”. In the center of the page, the design of the readathon, drawn by Logan is a castle floating with a banner “Orilium”. Under it, is written: “My favourite readathon is back, baby!” by @maxxiereads

Hi friends! 📚 ✨

The horror persists, but so do I!

I challenged myself to read mostly ARCs during August and… Life happened! Still managed to:

✨ Read 11 books
📚 Read 2 ARCS
🖋️ Wrote 3 reviews (but posted none yet!)

I must admit, I struggled a lot and posted almost nothing last month… And completely railed off the dARCmore challenge train. I had a pretty busy month and I can’t wait to be on vacation (in a few days)! 🎉

I had a few highlights, and finished:

💜 The Heartstopper series
💜 The Promised Neverland series

September is always a big reading month for me, because of the Orilium Challenge, but I may use a few scrolls to help me get through my TBR, you’ll see!

💬 Now, tell me: What was your favourite book in August? And did you read any of these books?

❗I got flagged for using AI because of a piece of torn paper on a few previous collages and got a little depressed because I didn't use it on purpose, and I spend a lot of time rewriting my posts, writing my collages alt text and all. I just wanted to let you know if you did not see my stories about it. (I did not rewrite that part and it may show, I'm sorry)

#Bookstagram #WrapUp #JulyWrapUp #Booksbooksbooks The first slide is a pastel blue Bookstagram graphic titled "August Wrap Up." Eleven book covers are arranged in a grid with scrapbook decorations around the edges. A few books have a star rating displayed underneath. The books include: Le coût de la virilité, by Lucile Peytavin (non fiction so non rated), Welcome to AuDHD by Megan Griffith (non fiction so non rated), Heartstopper volume 6 by Alice Oseman (5 stars), Guerilla Green (non fiction so non rated), The Promised Neverland volume 20 by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu (3 stars), Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas (3.5 stars), Safe Harbor by Nicola and David Yoon (4 stars), Amulet volume 1 (3 stars), Amulet volume 2 (3.5 stars), both by KIBUISHI-K, Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (3.75 stars), The Legacy by Elle Kennedy (3.75 stars). The color palette uses soft blue, pink, lavender, cream, and peach tones. Below the grid is written in navy blue: “11 books, 1,895 pages, 33.17 hours. Read 2 arcs. Wrote 3 reviews, Posted none”. Illustrations of books and flying paper plane are displayed as well. by @maxxiereads
