Look family, friends, and coaches I finally did it. I made it to the top. I never gave up and kept moving towards what I wanted. Through the hardest of moments I never gave up on my dreams. For the longest time it never crossed my mind that track was going to be my golden ticket, always believed it was going to be soccer, but here I am going D2 for track and field. I’m so grateful that Emory and Henry is my best fit, where it’s not too big or too small, where I feel safe, where I can major in my interest, and where I can continue to become a better athlete. I want to thank so many people in my life that never gave up on me and always believed I can do it. I’m so ready to take this next step in my academic/sport career! #d2 #trackandfield #emoryandhenrycollege by @maya.turner23

This season was one for the books. I finally became the 400m record holder — a record I will keep breaking — and split 59 on the 4x4, helping earn the 4x4 school record. PRs in javelin, 24/25 splits in my fours… crazy to think how far I’ve come in just a few months with a couple meets. I feel stronger, faster, and more confident than ever.
Most importantly, I got the chance to come back to what I love most: sprints. Being a leader again, building a real bond on the sprint side, and feeling like that team mom/athletic trainer all over again brought back the best memories of high school. I can’t wait to keep moving forward in the 400, 200, and javelin, can’t forget jav.
And to the senior class… you made the biggest impact on me. You were the first to show me around this university, and you gave me memories I’ll carry forever. Photographing some of your senior photos meant the world to me.
I love this team, and I can’t wait to be the leader I’ve always loved being in my final year.

Only raced each event once before conference, then ran them both again and left with a four‑second PR in the 800 and my fastest 400 yet. Indoor junior season was small in number, big in impact. Proud of the people who made it one to remember.💛💙 by @maya.turner23
